Just an update... I have my 2 modified 290's on veg duty and they do indeed seem to be performing well. A couple weeks and good growth. No burning.

It doesn't necessarily mean they're cutting corners. It just depends on how much power they want to give to the leds. More juice per chip can actually lower life while not getting back the equivalent in performance. I believe it's getting better though.

For clarification sake, my lights that burned my plants are early 2011 290's. No whites. 315w actual draw. Speaking of his website, I really hope it's up soon and can put some of this shit to rest instead of what each person talked with him about or whatever. lol

NP, man. That stuff in the link is pretty mild, and can be used well into the flowering cycle. As for their claim of no ill effects even if sprayed on the day of harvest, I haven't needed to, so I can't say exactly how it effects our specific plants.

I think its more of a combo between high humidity, low temps, and poor airflow through the plants. As for getting rid of it, it depends how bad it is. If you catch it early, you might get away with just cutting out the infected leaves, and keeping the temp high and humidity low. You could...
