    Weird orange foam in reservoir!

Learn to read: Ergo, I am already rather well-read, and was already performing all the correct procedures for removing algae and fungi from a hydro tank. I merely made the mistake of thinking anyone more experienced than myself would frequent such a hotbed of stupidity.

    Weird orange foam in reservoir!

Laugh all you want. I'm about to have a 1 lb harvest on Sunday, and two months ago I had six ounces with half the plants, on my first grow ever. According to the hydro store guy, I was doing all the right things to flush out and kill the algae. Too bad no one here is intelligent enough to even...

    Weird orange foam in reservoir!

Well, thanks for all the (NO) help I received. My girls are dead--massive root rot. You guys are fucking useless. I'm sure if I posted something idiotic I would have gotten a real response, but apparently no one on this forum is remotely intelligent or experienced--seems like more of a...

    Weird orange foam in reservoir!

Well, they looked fine yesterday, but this morning, I wake up, check the tank, and there are SUDS! It's different from the orange foam from earlier--that stuff was thicker and kinda frothy. This looks like soap; just a layer of soap suds on top of the reservoir and clinging to the roots. What's...

    Anyone? Please?

    Weird orange foam in reservoir!

Any help? I started them on another fresh reservoir with 175 mL of FloraShield mixed in -- here's hoping that fixes the problem.

    Weird orange foam in reservoir!

Argh. I had weird-ass orange foam in my reservoir last night, clinging to the sides of the tank and frothing up on the roots. I just changed them on Sunday, so it was a fresh tank. I'm using a DWC/Bubbleponics system with 2 Pineapple Express seedlings and 2 rooted Snow White clones. I poured a...

    1st grow bubbleponics

Bubbleponics is just a DWC system with a water pump delivering nutes directly to the rockwool cube. Whether it's worth the extra 20 bucks or so is up to you. It'll shave some time pff the veg phase because the seedlings constantly get fresh water, and it probably helps a bit even after the roots...

    Bubbleponic Build List

That is an enormous tank! Be aware that it's gonna be a pain in the ass to change that much water every week or two. I like the ten gallon size myself. If you're planning on eight plants, I'd set up two ten gallon tanks instead--having eight plants sharing the same reservoir is just asking for...

    stealth 6 plant bubbleponic question

The point about males coming from the bagseed is a good one--you don't want them to knock up your White Rhinos. More to the point, six plants is way too much for a Bubbleponics tub if you plan on vegging them to any decent size. I did six for my first Bubbleponics harvest, and while I got...

    My plants are too big!

I don't have the room for it! The plants already fill all the area under the HPS and then some--I'm using supplemental CFLs on the side. On top of that, they're starting to fill up my entire grow room just standing straight up! I'm more concerned with the reservoir problem, btw. It's gonna be...

    My plants are too big!

Well, my ladies are way too fucking big--probably a good four and a half feet tall when you subtract the height of the hydro tubs. Are there any real dangers in letting them flop over a little? They don't stand up straight under their own power, but they can't really fall over more than 45...

Plants are too long to support themselves

Not sure what the best way to go about fixing this. My plants are about two weeks into flowering, and (I hope) have gotten through most of their growth spurt. The problem is that I left them in veg a little too long, and they started flopping all over the place when I changed the reservoir...

Urgent! My hydro plants just went limp!

Thanks for the quick responses, guys! It looks like they're firming up again and reorienting themselves toward the light. I'm guessing it was indeed shock from the cold water--I'll definitely pay more attention to the temperature change next time I switch tanks on them. I let my second hydro...

Urgent! My hydro plants just went limp!

No heater or thermometer, unfortunately. If it was indeed the temperature, will it work itself out as the tank warms up under the HPS, or should I just replace it asap?

Urgent! My hydro plants just went limp!

I'm using a 600w HPS, btw, but I don't think heat is the problem. I tend to place it further from the plants than necessary. Could it have been the temperature of the new tank? It was a little colder than usual, I think. If so, will they survive?

Urgent! My hydro plants just went limp!

They never were without water--I fill up a second tank, bubbled it out with an airstone for about fifteen minutes, then transferred the net pots+lid to the fresh tank. I'm using a ten gallon Rubbermaid with six gallons in the res usually--it's a Bubbleponics system. I've already had one nice...

Urgent! My hydro plants just went limp!

I just changed the tank, replacing it with six gallons of filtered water, 2/3 strength veg nutes, and a splash of H2O2. Fifteen minutes before I changed the tank, they were all looking strong and healthy, and now they all went limp and flopped over. I'm scared to just give them a SECOND fresh...
