Bubbleponics is just a DWC system with a water pump delivering nutes directly to the rockwool cube. Whether it's worth the extra 20 bucks or so is up to you. It'll shave some time pff the veg phase because the seedlings constantly get fresh water, and it probably helps a bit even after the roots...

No heater or thermometer, unfortunately. If it was indeed the temperature, will it work itself out as the tank warms up under the HPS, or should I just replace it asap?

I'm using a 600w HPS, btw, but I don't think heat is the problem. I tend to place it further from the plants than necessary. Could it have been the temperature of the new tank? It was a little colder than usual, I think. If so, will they survive?
