Wow your plant is only that big at one month old!?!? Something is seriously wrong. Buy more lights and put that thing back in Veg if its not too late. You'd get just a few grams of something that small. What are you using for lights? My plants are about 3 1/2 weeks old and 3 times that size.

you want to look inbetween the nodes aka where the branch meets the main stem. If you have balls or what looks to be another branch trying to grow then its a male, but if u see small white hairs then congrats its a female, but you won't see any of this until u switch to the flowering stage

CFLs=compact fluorescent lights, they're those twirly bulbs that are suppose to save electricity. They work great for the veg state of a plant.

If you're going to use a milkjug like that as a pot, then at least cover it with some dark thick construction paper or something like that, the light can easily penetrate the bottle and get to the roots which is not good for the plant at all. And as for someone saying not using miracle gro...

If you smoke in your room all the time then why care about the smell? I wouldnt bother buying or building a carbon filter for just one plant, it shouldn't even start to smell until a couple weeks into flowering. Invest in some Febreeze
