Does anyone know if car h.i.d bulbs and ballasts can be used for growing purposes. These kits produce 4200lumens per bulbs and i have 10 kits so that about 80000 lumens. Is that considered a suffice replacement for a 600w hps? or am I just a Donkey?

good point... but do you think because the 600's are much closer to the canopy that they will actually get more lumens as apposed to 1000's which has to be situated 10-12"s higher? I'm trying to look it in a way as who cares how much light the bulb produces, what should be the concern is how...
