    I was thinking maybe fungus gnat damage I seen some around the soil I know if the larvae gets in the soil they'll feed on the roots when they run out of decay to feed on

    The I had watered the soil previously it's just dry from the top I watered about 15 gallons and the soil felt wet past 6 inches it's just been pretty hot and dries the top of the soil
