No shit, dude. Everyone uses CalNit whether they know it or not. Now what are you going to do if you need more Calcium without adding more N? The answer is gypsum. I rest my case.

It can be useful as a Calcium supplement without adding Magnesium. Calcium deficiency is a lot more common than Magnesium.
