    Switching from led to hps heat is a bit much

    Can't go wrong with VivoSun. Just picked one up myself. And indeed...they can run a bit hot. I'll run a 6in. 470 cfm duct fan through my hood, pulling from outside the room. Hope you manage to pull through this predicament.

    Ditto to all the above... Clawing is most likely from over feeding (over loving) your girls. Give only h20 for a while (@least a week or two) Watch what they're reactions are. Once they bounce back resume your feeding schedule. Good luck on your first...and remember, nobody's first run turns out...
