Coolstack vs CL GH PRo 340 Greenhouse Ligths

I'm planning a solar passive greenhouse and need some additional light (only LED) that I can hang quite high. Efficiencies of over 3 umol/J seem quite up to date to me. Are you talking about the LEDs used? Please, I'm happy to hear any recommendations. Ideally 900 umol/m2/s reaching the canopy...

Coolstack vs CL GH PRo 340 Greenhouse Ligths

Has anyone tried the the coolstacks or California lightworks GH PRO 340...

    Greenhouse supplemental lighting

No, I'm really done with all the old school lights. The light quality drop off is a rip off. And I was tired of using them before. I'm planning a small solar passive greenhouse, so heating even in winter will be around 1kW, probably less with the lights. Max height will be 1,8 m above the...

    Greenhouse supplemental lighting

I'm looking for a place in Spain, so I can do without the heat... ;) I'm obsessing a bit about the CL GH PRo 340. How is it possible to produce 3.0 umol/J drawing only 340W? Is it bullshit?

    Greenhouse supplemental lighting

Hi, A greenhouse is somewhat a grow room... Sorry, if I'm in the wrong forum. looking into supplemental LED lighting for a greenhouse I came across a few issues and more questions. My trusted light guy on alibaba says a lot are going with the typical bar design used by hortibloom, spydrx and...

What businesses use a lot of electricity?

Ok, this is almost 7 years later... No one seems to have solved the problem as of yet. It is a recurring problem, but what everybody seems to fail to notice is that any business that uses a lot of electricity would still need the financial records to be kept. That means that several different...

Agrotech C-NO... static field pest management!!!???

Well.... the product in the title is without oil. But there is no problem with oils, they evaporate. Since the active ingredient in nuke em is citric acid maybe lemons might do the trick. Then it's compost teas and lemonades all the way. :D

Agrotech C-NO... static field pest management!!!???

OH, I WILL... BELIEVE ME! Why is there no storming off emoji!? No, but seriously as a thought experiment, Jim... or somebody that knows electricity. Would it lose its static charge, if the pot would be on a plastic mat to not have contact with the ground? My other option would be good...

Agrotech C-NO... static field pest management!!!???

Yes, they offered right away. That was just an excerpt of my conversation. Also the grounding problem would be solved by putting plastic under the smart pot, would it not? As I said electricity is like magic to me.

Agrotech C-NO... static field pest management!!!???

I took it as amusing. No worries, didn't feel attacked. ;) I was thinking the same thing with the grounding and just sent a message to a friend. It might be interesting though to research different voltages/frequencies on a plant to see, if there are benefits to charging the plant in some way...

Agrotech C-NO... static field pest management!!!???

So here another update risking that I will be called a saxon soaker again... ;) I'm really not trying to sell anything here, just contributing. I received a reply from Agrotech about their product: "C No Insects is a 100% natural foliar spray to use on plants. C No insects is made from...

    UV Suppliment Lighting

Yes, Solacure is also a very good product even closer to what is truly needed. Sadly, they only can handle US and Canadian shipments. Arcadia you can get almost anywhere. I would know, because I'm pretty close to the South Pole... :D

    UV Suppliment Lighting

Sorry, never used the HLGs! The basking light is only an option, if you like smoky flavour and your intention is to bbq your plants. Then I would just recommend a weber or a good smoker. The right tool for the right job and such... Basking lights are inefficient in regards. Just go with the...

    UV Suppliment Lighting

I got much cheaper ones from China, but if you only need two, you can get them anywhere. They also sell just the reflectors around $10.

    UV Suppliment Lighting

The HOT5 3ft Arcadias are more powerful than the 4ft ones. You can talk to the arcadia guy on facebook, he is pretty helpful. Two lamps is what you want to go with and some good reflectors. They're usually sold in a bundle with the fixture and reflector by reptile shops.

Oyster shell flour interchangable with grit?

Honest answer! ;) Yes, the base soil has perlite and vermiculite in it, plus I will be adding about 5% innoculated biochar red wigglers and nightcrawlers. And I have asked myself the same question about the aeration.

Oyster shell flour interchangable with grit?

Oh ok, should one put more dolomite to compensate for the OSF? I've already eliminated the bat guano, because of environmental reasons and replaced it with a more phosphorous vermicompost. The peat moss from the base soil is also replaced with a good coco based mix. This is the classic recipe...

Oyster shell flour interchangable with grit?

Hi, It seems to be a bit of a problem to get oyster shell flour in my country, although everybody is eating oysters... I have found oyster shell grit, which is used for chicken. Is it interchangable?
