is their a way to fix stretching. further more how bad is stretching.

some of my plants are falling over they are only 2-4 inches tall. i did let the plants stretch because my original set up had lights way to far away. since i have moved the lights closer the leaves have been only part growing but it seems the bigger the leaves get the more they are falling over...
