You have to pretty much cut each bud off, takes a little bit longer but it's no biggy. If you find a nice stem that's not tangled you can usually cut pretty much at the bottom of the stem and take them all out pulling them down, providing the tops fit through the screen! I like to hang them to...

You'll need to put that casing part back on in order to secure ducting properly, you'll want 1 jubilee (ducting clip, whatever) per side of the fan 1 for the carbon filter... If possible I'd suspend the fan on the inside of the tent and run the ducting out, just look for any non broken supports...
