Forgot to add something... White painted walls works as fine as mylar or foil...

If it's a mostly indica plant, then it would be sufficient coz most indica plant has a low light requirement. However, if it's a mostly Sativa plant, then it would not be enough... I inserted a pic for your reference... Cheers, Stoner Friend

Give it a few days, if it turns into stem, then it's a new leaf, but if it's turning into a pistil, then it's a female. But. If it turns into a ball sac, then you may be very unlucky because it's a male... But preflower often does not happen when the plant is still in the early vegetative...

I would say that you go ahead grow 10 plants and spread the bulbs all around covering the top, bottom, and the side of the plants equally and thoroughly, then afterwards, you should be cutting out the males(soon after you can identify them) as well as the unhealthy plants. And you should be left...

I'm not too sure about the light requirements, but I grow 2 plants with 2x42watt cool white and 2x42 warm white and each bulb produce 2800 lumen. I'm 3 weeks into flowering and all looks good. I guess it's just different strains have different light requirement, and the plants are able to adapt...
