This one of my plants it's a Purple Dragon and it's been in the ground since march. The pics are about 2 weeks apart

So I got a plant pulling out of a early bloom and the plant stretched over some inner growth so I cut it. Everything that I cut seemed to still be trying to pull out over flower so I jus helped it along. Was this a good idea? The plant looks better and it's not so cluttered jus wondering if...

I live in Sactown and the city sewer main runs through my backyard and the soil is great!
