let somebody verify this but your two red wires need to be screwed down under the flathead screws on the right side of the panel... technically black on top and red on bottom but they are both hot legs of 120 so it doesn't matter AT ALL. the white wire (neutral) goes under the flat head screw on...

small amounts of light getting in is not really a big deal.. They need low light conditions to flower.. not no light. I've seen the moon so bright it left a shadow... plants wouldn't flower in that if they needed true darkness having different flowering cycles is definitely a plus though
