You might try Gardeners Gold or Happy Frog potting soils, they are both great i personally add 25% Perlite to make sure it drains well. This is just what i do not sayings its the best but a shit load better than MG. Happy growing!!!

I had the same problem a while back i believe the temps were to low so a put the next ones in a warmer area the they sprouted nicely. Give that a try it worked for me.

Ummm the whole higher power usage is BS, when i put in my hot tub which uses way more than my grow system no one came around to see why my bill went up 40%. I'm just not going for that one, i think it is one of those old pot growers thoughts while stoned. The smell is what you need to worry...

Yep, to much i picked a 600 watt system with hood& bulb for $175. (extrasun system)

Buy a timer they are not that much(Home supply) like 20 bucks and it will run two items off one timer. I am not sure on why you want to do it manually. The timing really needs to be as close to perfect as you can get and timers will do that for you. No matter how you go about it best of luck...

Yes, that would be great, but a MH conversion bulb for the first couple weeks is best. You can do it just read a lot online and go for it so much enjoyment out of growing your own smoke.... Have fun

Well, yes it is but i had read that the house hold HP is to low in percentage to work well for plants. Where would i find the stronger stuff hydro store ?

I don't believe that light will work, if nothing else get a clf and and a clip light with the little round hood and use it. You can get them almost any home or hard ware centers and they do not cost much.... Have to have more and the right type of light. Good luck.
