think of the swelling as a way for the plant to get ready to support some extra weight come flowering time. It does not mean it's a male or female.

Big difference! That hps bulb will put out the proper spectrum used during flowering for the plants to use to make some delicious buds! Don't get me wrong, I love cfl's for veggin, i mean i was suprised to get the exact same results vegging with cfl's as i do veggin with my 400 hps without...

Its a somewhat fine line when ur talkin puttin over a 1000w of light in a lil ole closet. Like GS was sayin, if u can control the HEAT, then ur in there. Heat can become a big issue with hid's, but it doesn't have to be.
