Nute burn, Mn or Mg deficiency?

Well, now im 100% sure my problem was Mg deficiency resulting from too HIGH pH, and not too LOW pH, which I thought earlier (which made me lower the pH which made things even worse). So now I'm just gonna water with plain pH 8,2 tap water for a while too try to raise the pH.

Nute burn, Mn or Mg deficiency?

I cut off all the "infected leaves". Was this the right thing to do? I did it mostly because I found those leaves disturbing and so I could more easily see any "new" infection.

Getting VERY different results testing my pH-corrected water

Thanks for your input closed4fishing! It's interesting that you experienced the same odd results as I've just witnessed. A question for you: You said you experienced the same orange rust spots on the leaves. Was this because of too high pH? And if so, how much was is off by? And these odd...

Getting VERY different results testing my pH-corrected water

Right, well I'm broke so I can't buy buffert solutions or cleaners :) So that's not an option. Would anyone care to guesstimate how many drops I should use? I'm gonna go with 7 drops unless someone has a better tip. The spread was big but with 7 drops the average pH was 6,2. Maybe someone has...

Getting VERY different results testing my pH-corrected water

The temperature of the water is constant and always around 20 degrees Celsius. I am using distilled water with a pH of 7,0 according to the label. Now, it is true that distilled water may react with the carbondioxide in the air, resulting with a slightly lower pH, but this is hardly...

Getting VERY different results testing my pH-corrected water

Well, I basically have pH 7 and pH 8,2 calibration solution and as I said, I don't think the pH meter is the problem. Besides, I have absolutely no money to spend on another pH meter, so I just have to work with what I've got. Even a bad pH meter would not give this kind of spread without reason.

Getting VERY different results testing my pH-corrected water

Oh and by the way, the pH meter I am using is this one: http://kinglead.en.made-in-china.com/offer/AoHnaCGOOfpe/Sell-pH-Meter-Model-PH-009-I-.html I use my tap water as a reference to make sure it is calibrated, but I have also used distilled water. And yes, it is not a super-high quality...

Nute burn, Mn or Mg deficiency?

By the way, I am now 100% sure it is a pH problem. I did some experiments with tap water and pH down and got very surprising and disturbing results :( Maybe someone can help me in the thread where I describe these experiments...

Getting VERY different results testing my pH-corrected water

Hey everybody, I've been having what seems like pH problems, which I describe in another thread. So today I did a series of experiments. My tap water is pH 8,2, so I used that as a reference. My pH-down is 38% nitric acid. What I did was that I filled a series of 1,5l bottles with tap water...

Nute burn, Mn or Mg deficiency?

I did like you asked and the water that came out was at pH 6,2. What do you make of that?

Nute burn, Mn or Mg deficiency?

A flush won't help me because it doesn't tell me what the problem is, so I can't prevent it in the future, and can do nothing else than continue doing what I've already been doing, which leads to an eternal circle of fail -> flush -> fail -> flush -> fail -> flush etc. Any idea about what the...

Nute burn, Mn or Mg deficiency?

Thanks for the quick reply, but the pH should be fine. I've pH-tested the water and in grow i had it around 5,5 then now its a bit over 6.

Nute burn, Mn or Mg deficiency?

Hello! :) I'll start with "the bigger picture": (in the picture above, I have circled an example of my problem) Close-ups: Okay, so my 7 girls have been in veg for 4 weeks and in flower for 5 weeks - so far with no problems, until yesterday. The grow is indoor in good quality soil...

Brown spots - magnesium deficiency or fungus? Pics!

Well, it seems like the only thing to do is to keep watering with water at PH 6,5.... I dare not add more epsom salt, just hope a good pH will clean this up. Maybe I should water more often, so the soil does't dry out (higher pH).

Brown spots - magnesium deficiency or fungus? Pics!

But damn, if it's zinc and MN deficiency, haven't I just made it worse by adding like 20 grams of epsom salt to the soil/plants? I try to water with water with pH 6,5, shouldn't that be enough to catch all the minerals? Sometimes the soil dries up, I don't have any verlicolite and no leca but...

    What is causing these spots??

Jakebakingcake, with PH fluxuation do you mean big PH changes over time or do you mean the PH changes from "sections" of the soil? Do your plants look like my plants? I've always thought it was some kind of PH problem!

    Holes and drying of leaves

Looks like nute burn... or the beginning of my problem :( That's how it started, anyway... but your seems a little more concentrated to the edges.

Brown spots - magnesium deficiency or fungus? Pics!

Thanks for the site, really useful! I think we can both agree it's NOT fungus. Then the question is, what is it? I have noticed that the new growths are sometimes lime-yellow-green-coloured, I have also noticed purple stems on the affected branches, and the brown-yellow "necrotic" spots on the...

Brown spots - magnesium deficiency or fungus? Pics!

Sticky glossy stuff? Hell no, my affected leaves are dry as shit and some even break because they are so stiff! But then again, I keep spraying them with water/epsom salt so I wouldn't know.

    What is causing these spots??

Smitty750, I have the same problem as you and I also tried with large amounts of Epsom salt - to no avail! How long have you tried epsom salt? I've tried foilar feeding and adding epsom salt to the regular water for 4 days now. Are your stems purple, too? How can it be fungus if the spots occur...
