Rooted clones in peat pellet kept dying after transplanted to solo cups

I cut out the netting before transplanting. But yeh, I think because I started adding EWC and Kelp to the soil and things started going south. I've just lost 6 seedlings out of 7 using this new mix. I was thinking the issue was the Quantum Board that burned the plants because that's another...

Rooted clones in peat pellet kept dying after transplanted to solo cups

But I want to know why is the EWC choking the roots? Is it because EWC is too dense and thus robbing the soil of oxygen? The ratio I'm using is 5:1:1 of Promix:EWC:Kelp Meal.

Rooted clones in peat pellet kept dying after transplanted to solo cups

Yeh, I am thinking this could be an issue. In the past, I only use HP Promix for seedlings and clones. Since adding EWC and Kelp during this recent run, I have managed to kill 6 seedlings and 3 clones. I thought it was due to the Quantum Boards burning them but after I dumped the soil from...

Rooted clones in peat pellet kept dying after transplanted to solo cups

Thanks guys for chiming in. Please read the OP again. I DO NOT have any issue getting the cuts to root in the peat pellet. In fact, most of my cuttings root in the peat pellet just fine and I find that these peat pellets are the best for me to get them to root. The ONLY issue I have is...

    Plants sick under hlg 600s

Yeh, listen to @mustbetribbin . I am experiencing what you are going through, the exact issue. Check out my thread I posted yesterday. https://www.rollitup.org/t/quantum-boards-burning-plants.1000196/ These Quantum Boards are evil! :) They burn all my plants to hell. I've lost 3 valuable...

Rooted clones in peat pellet kept dying after transplanted to solo cups

I got a few rooted clones that are very young and small (around two to three inches tall) in peat pellet that kept dying after a week once they were transplanted into solo cups. I transplanted them after several roots poked through the peat pellet netting. After I transplanted them in solo...

    Quantum Boards burning plants.

I have my tent in the non insulated garage and I'm in Canada so it's cold in there. I have a small space heater and 25C is an easy temp to reach. I have to find a way to lower the RH then. But RH of 45% or 40% is super low. I guess the only way to find out is try it. Thanks! What do you run...

I have a VPD calculator from Pulse. https://getpulse.co/blog/vpd#calculate What's optimal RH for flowering if I run at 25C? Let's say my LST is 22C as the QB's are hung 30" away. The calculator I have is saying that at 25C and LST of 22C, optimal RH is 48% for kPa of 1.2. kPa 1.2 to 1.6 is...

haha. Yeh, I noticed that. I usually take the readings really fast when I first open the tent and go with that.

    Quantum Boards burning plants.

Right. When I first tried to deal with that big plant issue, I had my VPD set optimally. But things sort of got sidetracked to other issues so I kind of left my environment with high RH. I have a couple of younger plants in the flowering tent right now and they are praying though. They seem...

Well, my environment bounces around 25C-27C and 60%-70% RH. When you calculate VPD, do you take into account of leaf surface temperature? When I did my VPD, I also took leaf surface temperature which is very important for proper VPD.

Why "Heavy"? Is it because you are running QB's at high intensity? Top feed as in top dress or foliar spray? What's in your amendment if you don't mind me asking. I plan to start amending with a lot Calcium now, not just because of the QB's but because it's required for super healthy growth.

I love praying plants. QBs distance to canopy?

distance to canopy? in flowering I suppose?

You are right in a way. I think I have both nutrient and light issue. The reason is that I have a stand-alone QB228 v2 with 660nm and have managed to burn 3 seedlings too. That's why I am bringing up the light issue in the first place. Do you think they will recover from the burnt?

    Quantum Boards burning plants.

Good eyes you got there! The smaller plant got tip burnts due to too much nutes and it's a sativa dom which usually doesn't like a lot of nutes. The reason why this smaller plant got tips burnts was because it started yellowing at the top and all over, so I thought I had nute deficiency with...

    Quantum Boards burning plants.

For the big plant, for sure the pH was off and had lockout. But how do you explain the smaller SLH plant being burned in freshly cooked living organic soil? I have just put another plant in the flowering tent, using the same cooked LOS and it's praying and being very healthy.

Anyway, thanks guys for chiming in. I'm going to slowly increase the intensity by 1K LUX every few days and see how far I can push them. I'll report back. For those running 4 x QB288 in a 4x4 tent, what's your QB reading/setup like? LUX, PPFD, watt, and distance to canopy?
