Sad seedlings! Been running a couple hours getting a temperature of 28C off the heatsink around the diode. Seems to be working ok!

thanks. My meter does ac amps and only dc micro amps up to 2000. Think I Found the issue

Trying to test out the unmarked drivers in one of the Chinese lights I have. 112 1w leds divIded into three circuits labled as a 120w. I'm getting a reading of 88.6vdc and 2A out of one driver hooked up to one circuit. It doesn't SOund right. Unless there's sone series parallel stuff gong on...

Thanks for the info rahj and Indiana.Got my veros yesterday abd started taking apart the lights before getting called in for a no heat call. Being oncall sux! The drivers from the square light are the 70-90v 500-560ma the others are unknown. I plan to put the v18s on the rectangle light with...

that's a serious amount of aluminum! Thanks for the pics. What's the profile of the large bonded heatsinks?

id like to see your construction. My first veg light wilk be built on an old led housing that already has fans incorporated into it. The flowering lights will be 3 units so the spread can be adjusted. Kinda wish I was back in N.Y. to rummage through my grandpas electronic museum (house)! I know...

I definitely see your point. That was my original intent! Maybe I'll plan for passive and throw a fan on each heatsink. My 4" can fan exhausts from above where the lights will be mounted and runs 24/7 for odor control

Thanks. I'll probably incorporate them with the 80 cri when I build my flowering light. Do you run them harder due to the lower lumen output?

Thanks for the info. I think ill go with the smaller profile and use active cooling for safety reasons. I ordered 3 v18s to play with first due to being stuck at work for the next two weeks strait. I accidentally ordered the 90 cri instead of the 80 cri. beSides l/w output is there a big...

I'm trying to Figure out my heatsink sizes. I'd Like to do it passively. I want to do 3 bars with 3 cobs each that I can tie Together. So with the v18s @ 500ma and 48% efficiency, there is about 7.33 heat watts per cob that needs to be dissipated. So per bar I need a heatsink that can handle...

Yeah on the bridgelux sheets im seeing 156 l/w @ 500ma.

Thanks for the info on your light. It looks like a good layout. I've got enough drivers to run 9 v18s @ 500ma putting out around 19000 lumens if I'm correct. I think I'll try ti make three heatsink bars I can connect together some how. Then possibly upgrade the drivers to 700ma or 1050ma for...

Lumens being total lumens? Ler being lumens per watt? Watts being VxA? Sorry trying to figure things out on my short 5 min breaks never mind had some time at lunch. Think I got it

The weekend is upon us! I'd be interested to see the layout. My cab will be around 18" x 30" I like to keep my ladies short and LST. Is your unit active or passively cooled? thanks

What kinda spacing do you have between the chips and and also between heatsinks? also what kind of coverage are you getting from the whole assembly? Thanks

Nice. I have a very similar fixture that I'm using for the three Vero 18's! I've gOtta test the drivers out in it, when I took it apart last night there were three unlabeled drivers in it. It's labeled 120w abd there are 112 diodes. Curious what they are

Thanks for the input. 3 Vero 18 @ 500ma is around 85v so I think that's where im headed for my first diy to play around with. I like "hacked" light in your picture. What are the dimensions of the unit you used?
