    Anaerobic bacteria effect on soil

Dolomite is best if mixed in a soil when amending but in situations where a grow is in progress and soil ph needs to be raised it can be used as a top dressing. Buy a gallon of distilled water at a pharmacy to do the slurry tests. Why would I be testing runoff in an organic grow? Isn't that...

    Anaerobic bacteria effect on soil

I only skimmed the thread. A couple of things that stand out unless you are doing it or it was mentioned. Each time a soil is amended a small amount of dolomite lime, or some other PH buffer should be added. A grower reamending soil many times should understand how to test soil PH. Each grow...

    Help with leaf oddity!

It's just a genetic expression. It usually only reveals itself when a plant well grown IMO. It is usually a sativa dominant strain that does this.

    Bad looking seedling

How deep is that pot you are using? I am curious what your soil looks like below the surface. I'd like you to take a pic of the top of the soil again without disturbing it, then take something like a fork as I used and scratch a half inch of soil like I did in the pics below. I'd like to see if...

    RO WATER

It would help to know if there were any feedings after the 1st feeding when flowering started. If these were fed at the beginning of flowering, I see a couple of possible issues. 1st you have water heavy with calcium which is what is creating the crust on your faucets. The 1st pic ingredients...

    RO WATER

I have tap water similar to yours. Can you list everything including the NPK for each top dressing or bottle feeding you gave the plants up until the yellowing began. If you can be detailed with amounts given and dates or stage of growth when feedings are given. I have a feeling it's related to...

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

Do your instructions have any information about using ro or distilled water the day before testing? My low end blue lab pen instructions include this: Moisture level/raw water If the sample you are wishing to measure is dry, add RO water or distilled water to moisten. Ideally wait 24 hours...

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

I don't use the method you are using to determine PH. I use a cheap bluelabs soil probe, slurry tests and plant observation. I keep an eye on runoff for color and EC because I re-amend soils and sometime run into a buildup and need to leach. I have definitely run into bags of ffof that have had...

Can you get decent results in 2 gallon containers?

Mulch or a cover crop like clover can help with the moisture issues when using the grow bags.

    Lowering Soil Ph

Some growers will say those meters are useless. Some like me find the moisture meter useful. No one that I know of on riu considers the PH readings on those meters useful. Ways to check soil PH. (1) Learn how to do a soil slurry test. (2) Buy a low end $200 soil testing probe. (3) Send in a soil...

    What did you accomplish today?

Thank you for the advice. I'm considering using a step stud to match the threads that are still there and smaller diameter threads going through the manifold. That way if the bolt is not perfectly aligned to the hole it will give me a margin of error to work with. Thanks again.
