What nutrients and do I go organic ?

This has always been my favorite thing about urea. :D Lovely CHNO molecules!

What nutrients and do I go organic ?

So, OMRI listed? Or just what some organism excreted as waste? Or does ground up plant matter count as well?

    Natural fertilizers for outdoor growing

Technically speaking, everything is natural. We just move the ions around. Or do you just want fertilizers that come out of an animal or other organism's butt? Or do you just want OMRI listed fertilizers? Or do you want to not use any fertilizer that was mined?

Showing root growth in 4 days is not the same as having enough root growth to transplant.

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Using a sodium silicate is not going to be significantly effective. Using potassium silicate you'll notice since you are increasing the potassium concentration. If you ever go to a recirculating system, never use sodium silicate. Sodium is a micronutrient and it will build up in the system...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

And by improve hardiness, I mean it's increases its ability to deal with heavy metal toxicities like high micronutrient concentrations. It improves it's resistance to molds, mildews, and other pests. And any other way you want to define hardiness. It makes the plant tougher, basically. But...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Not much. It's not an essential nutrient. When you grow in soil, you get some because there's always silica in the soil. When you grow in hydroponics you usually get none and your plants grow just fine. Added silica tends to improve the hardiness of a plant though.

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

One more thing! Using stabilized silicic acid products allows you to use them in stock solutions. I'm not sure if you've tried making a stock solution of potassium silicates, but it's very basic and it is almost entirely useless in a stock solution as it precipitates out of solution below...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

There something else I want to add about product like Mills Vitalize, OSA28, Aptus Fasilitor or most other silicic acid products. Many of them are fertilizer blends with additions of P, K, or maybe micronutrients. Doing so is pointless. If you need silica, add silica. You don't need to add P or...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

One thing you should not think is that potassium silicates like Agsil 16H are now obsolete. They are still the best value for silicate additions. However, if you're like me and you are very specific in your nutrient concentrations, adding potassium silicates can be tougher to work with for...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Monosilicic acid? Primarily as a pure silica additive in the form that plants uptake quicker. It's H4SiO4. If you look into the silica cycle in soil you'll find that silicates(SiO3) go through a chemical change to SiO4. It's a slow process and you usually add silicates like potassium silicate...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Silicic acid is not cheap. Unfortunately. And I'm not willing to pay for any silicic acid product to do testing. However, the whole "canabis specific fertilizers are inflated" still holds true. The cheapest I've been able to find is this...

    Mammoth P and Music experiment

I didn't realize you were already using other bacteria blends. That being said, you will not likely see much of a change. If you weren't using any bacteria at all, you would see a mild benefit to Mammoth P. And a larger one with a bacteria blend like you already use.

    Mammoth P and Music experiment

There's been some research on sound and plant growth. It's stupid and doesn't seem to follow a lot of intuitive logic, but it does seem to do something, to say the least. Now, in regards to Mammoth P. This is a phosphorus fixing bacteria that has been specifically isolated. You'd be better off...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

So, the shop was there for a little while and then I took it down because I realized I didn't really want to do it that much. I still have open distributor accounts that I've made use of and that I will continue to use for me and some friends of mine, so if you want anything specific, just let...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Unnecessary does NOT mean useless. You're right, there isn't such a thing as a silicon deficiency. But it's not a useless fertilizer. I do understand your reasoning now, but you weren't that clear with it before. Yes, everyone should start with understand that plants need nitrogen, phosphorus...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Silica has been proven to improve disease resistance, drought resistance, heavy metal toxicity, etc. Humic acids have been proven to improve nutrient uptake. Amino acids and vitamins, not so much. Also, I don't understand how you're making the connection between a stepping stone toward DIY...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

I know ttystik is doing it right now, AFAIK, but he was using salts before as it was. A number of emails have come through the website thanking me for doing it. But, by and large, you're right. Most people aren't willing to try it. I understand. And I get it. You've been trying to convince...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

Humic acids chelate ALL nutrients and make for an easier uptake by the plants as well as a more stable feed solution. Chelating agents such as EDTA, DTPA, EDDHA, glycine, etc. exist to chelate metals for use in stock solutions. They prevent the metals from reacting with anions in a replacement...
