no problems w my V1 and I am about 2 years. Aren't they like 5% less efficient than v2. I wish I had more space and I would buy more V1. Imagine the cost of a diy 550 these days.. Like 250 usd w driver. Too bad for Canadians as the minimal shipping cost seems to be about 40 usd.

THe 2 qb96e per 185 driver are doing great. My wall meter shows 255 w per 2 boards max ( on 185 54a ) and I run them at 205w per 2 boards ( the wall meter is a guideline for me are not 100 percent accurate ). Last runs I had 185 w driver per 96E and dialed to 160-170 each x 4. I feel the 100 w x...

    I would get 2 or 3 qb288 rpec/other w/heatsinks ( or qb96elite ) on a 240 or 320 w driver. I love the 96elite engine and 2 of those on a 320 watt driver would rock, 3 on a 320 watt driver even better. The quantum boards will give you 6 or 7" more headroom, if height is a concern. Also 4x qb120...

HLG 550 Rspec.. If price is holding you back then ask for a discount code. Best in my opinion for the price would be 6 qb96elite DIY with 2 HLG 320H 54a or b.

Keep the V1 and do 3 rows of 3. Add 5 rspecs. Put the V1's om the outside corners. Space the boards 6" on the triple fixture. There is certainly a lot of options for you at HLG these days. I incorporated some qb96elites into my setup. I am running 90 watts per board x 13 ( measured by wall meter...

I was really happy I bought the 185h 54a as I ended up running 2 qb96e off each one instead of 1. I used a spare 185 54a to run 2 QB288 v1`2700k. The temperature of that driver is cooler to touch than the 240 c2100a at the same wattage, which runs 2 qb288 v1 3000k (figure that one out..). All...

4 rows of 4. Nicer to have 5 rows of 4. I bet a row of Rspecs would be nice.. Look for some 1/8"thick 3/4"angled aluminum. It seems very rigid for 3 boards and perhaps 4 boards. I use that in pics last page. However you configure the lights you have some thinking to do. Good luck with that and...

Thanks very much @Budzbuddha . Don't forget to follow vancitygrower back on on IG.. Or follow the hashtag.. vancitygrowers IG is more on point to fixtures and ideas. 2 accounts. @Airwalker16 to answer the question they are all HLG.. 4 QB 288 V1 3000k. 2 QB288 V1 2700k. 1 QB 288 V2 Rspec. 6 QB...

301H and 301B are the same. I would believe the H means "Horticulture". So many rip offs out there these days that you need to reference HLG quantum boards. Why not reference an "H" and call it a V3... One may think the vendor actually has better gear lmao... If something it better in the...

I am getting pretty even coverage. I can even lean into my canopy.. I love spanning a 4 foot space with triple lights. I bet I could even push it to 5 feet wide.

I am waiting just a little longer for UV. I like the tubes UVB but I wonder if that spectrum will wear on other various things inside a tent. THe UVA strips look good to fit in well, but how good do they work on enhancment of terps repell bugs etc ( no apparent gain in resin... ). I will wait...

THe 320 RSPEC with 3 boards and 320 watt driver should have more than enough wattage for a 4x2. That would be more than 40 watts per sq ft. The RSPEC has deep reds ( 660 nm ). Apparently the reds (630 nm ) are not as efficient/. I am pretty sure Stephen from HLG mentioned this on the GML show...

Use an older blade on a chop saw with some WD 40 to lube cut. Proper eye protection of coarse. I was contemplating cutting a double when HLG sent me a double heatsink instead of 2 singles. I found a different solution in the QB96e's

18 awg is good on the DC side for typical lengths. I use solid since I had a box from a low voltage job I did years back. I dont have problems adjusting my rig with solid wire ( getting to the rope rachets much bigger problem with plants ). Any heavier awg would probably be a pain. The rig in...

I use 18 gauge solid at about 10'. I don't think the molex takes any larger wire. I put a calculator on 18 awg and believe I got a fraction of a percent more drop compared to 16 gauge (It was a while ago when I calculated ). If using UV you may want to look at some UV resistant wire. Greenery...

I was told when I was at Cdn Metal Supermarket that in store is less expensive. I got a piece so long it had to be cut to transport ( perhaps 20 feet around 28 cdn ). They also have a scrap bin by the pound. I also bought some from Home Depot about same price as you, same stuff. I would...

In Canada "Metal Supermarkets" is a good place for angle aluminum etc. I have also bought HD for more dollar. Don't buy the nice finish stuff as it is too much. I think HD about $20 cdn for 8' 3/4"( could have been a bit more ). Metal supermarket was like $30 cdn for 16'. I have thought about...

I drill little holes in the angle aluminum and use rigid "key rings" for hanging with rope ratchet. Dent the angle aluminum with a center punch or nail before drilling, otherwise your drill bit will slide everywhere. You would also need to do this to mount boards.
