    preflower hairs turning pink??

It's just a recessive trait. No big deal. Though they sure are pretty.

    Fluorescent VHO Gro-Lux

Yes, in terms of PAR, too, Gro-Lux and other plant-specific fluoro tubes dominate the market in PAR per watt. Around or less than half the amount of lumens are required for roughly the same PPFD as other bulbs. The closest challenger is this test is the Mitsubishi MH lamp. But the fluoro...

Danger Will Robertson Danger!!!!! This Site has been compromised!!

I've heard plenty of stories(from actual news sources) about growers being busted because of their on-line activities.

Danger Will Robertson Danger!!!!! This Site has been compromised!!

If you post personal and/or incriminating evidence against yourself..... You're a dumbass. Many can and do do it legally, obviously they're not being dumbasses. The first lesson(RULE!) of growing pot: DO NOT TELL ANYONE. That includes people on the Internet.

    thermal imaging

I've been in the Military(AF). -- I'm going to have to agree with doobnVA. I've seen many photos of plants taken with FLIR cameras, they typically look like incomprehensible blobs. Especially during day-light. Most plants have no way to create heat(other than very small...

T5's and T8's generally outperform MH in terms of lumens per watt.

    Fluorescent VHO Gro-Lux

I searched and found this, no replies. And I just made a diagram about Gro-Lux bulbs. This is a comparison of four types of 40W fluoro tubes, along with a basic photosynthesis graph for reference. As you can see, the Gro-Lux puts out the most wattage in the best spectrums compared to...

    What ratio soil to perlite?

I use around 50/50 by volume(not quite 50% perlite, but close) for smaller containers. Then once I transplant to 5 gal it's more like 1/3rd perlite.

    Best ways to transplant

Do what works for your space. It tends to get harder to transplant with minimal shock as they get bigger. Usually the fewer transplants received the better they'll grow.

Thoughts on How to Eliminate the "Newbies Throwing out Bad Advice" problem...

Chronic insomnia? Nothing better to do than post on RIU all night? Plants grow/'take care of' themselves, for the most part.

Can u cure badly cured buds?

And post off-topic! Completely ignoring the OP. Adding a delightfully helpful yes but no... IF... UH... WHAT?! What are the variables? Your professor was/is a moron. Probably a theist. Anyone get baffled by this guy? Dazzled? No, and another no? Me either.

When Forum Moderators Abuse Their Powers...

You're on the wrong site if you desire intellectual discussion. Just a bunch of us redneck NASCAR lovers on RIU. I agree with you! This site (I have never visited their IRC chat, for I had expectations of what you have described) has deplorable moderation(I do not speak for any...

Thoughts on How to Eliminate the "Newbies Throwing out Bad Advice" problem...

Boric acid?! Wow.... Yes, it'll kill pretty much all forms of life(wonderful to control ants). Very toxic shit if ingested. You can also make silly puddy type of stuff from it(20 Mule Team Borax is used), Elmer's glue, and water. It's sticky and gooey. I believe there was a product called...

    This is so cool!

I know this old guy who turns salsa containers(glass jars, about 16 oz, wide lid), into pretty much the same thing. Metal lid is drilled for a metal slide and plastic tubing attached to the lid as well. If the glass breaks he can just screw it onto another jar. Pretty crafty.

What Kind of High do you get with a Bong?

Yea, I always put out my pipe between tokes. Even passing it, I sometimes forget to let it roll. I had some guy ask me, "you put it out didn't you?" And gave me a weird look. I said, "yea..." And returned the weird look. Oh well. My bong has a pretty deep bowl, it's not easy to put out...

    Sugar!!

The sugar feeds soil microbes, and allows them to reproduce more quickly, which they in turn convert dirt to plant soluble nutrients. Yes, plain sugar will work. Though it doesn't take much. Maybe 1 TBSP per gallon. If you were to taste the water(before/after), you should not be able to...
