3 days after planting seeds
Woot!! Both of my seeds have sprouted!
A bit less than 72 hours after planting, I now have some green in both pots. The first one that sprouted was a bit above the surface this morning, and had the cracked seed still attached to the top of it. I was able to break...
My current grow. Home made CFL cab with Northern Lights feminized from Nirvana.
Showing a few pics of my box, and one of the seeds just started showing through the surface so almost out of the woods.
Stealth and portability possibly. Also with your cabinet, you could get a $10 thermometer, sit it in there now and see what type of steady state values you get. This will change with lights and all but at least you'd get a baseline to see if its even feasible in that particular cabinet.
I'm...
I really doubt it Giblet. Right now, as it sits its consistently warmer than the ambient temp. Right now inside the box its been a consistent 79 degrees since I started running it. Which is a few degrees warmer than ambient temp. I think in winter I will easily be able to control this temp...
Woot!! Look at what I found in one of my pots.
This is about 50 hours after planting my seeds into the soil. I don't see any signs of the other one yet, but hopefully it will follow suit shortly.
Got my PH meter and my tap is 7.4 after letting it sit out for some time. Did some watering of my planted seeds, and with just around 24 hours after planting my seeds, still no signs of life yet.
Just for grins I checked a bottle of "Nestle Pure Life" bottled water and it was right @ 7.0.
Went through the book, really good book, easy and quick read.
One question though. In the book he says before sprouting the light was kept on 18 hours a day. Then he says the light was on 24 hours a day. I didn't see another mention of the light cycle he was using until he started...
Got everything planted and ready to go. I hate the few days before sprout b/c I think about all the things I may have done wrong.
I'm certain I will add another 4 23watt CFLs once I get enough growth to start LST.
My light cycle atm is 24 hours on. I will be vegging for about 16 days...
So now it's time for the grow phase.
I have everything I need and my seeds are germinating now.
A lot of people don't recommend it, but I will see how it turns out for this grow. I am gonna go with Miracle Grow Organic Potting Soil, it has a 2-1-1 ratio. So I am thinking it will supply...
I was trying to avoid going the route of spending 1 million dollars on nutes. So was just looking into the basics if anything along with proper PH balanced water.
Seems like a potting mix with a higher nitrogen would be better initially, followed by nutes heavy in the P and K for flowering...
Hello all, I am a relative newb when it comes to nutrients as there is a lot of conflicting info out there.
If I am wanting to just get ahold of the basic nutes to give to your plants, what are they and when do you know what to give your plants during it's different phases, and based on what...
So.... I think I'm done with my box!
The next phase of this journal will be the actual growing of my plants.
I don't see me doing much else beyond what has been done. I may wrap my pots in mylar as well before I pot my seeds.
If there is any interest I will compile the completed...
Still waiting on my mylar to finish the box. BUt I've been doing some light proofing. Right now I probably am stopping about 99% of the light from escaping.
The fans aren't letting visible streams of light leave the fans, but they are faintly illuminated. I created some baffles for my air...
Ok, almost there. I got all my wiring done and have my lighting system installed. As of now the ONLY things left to do is install the Mylar when it arrives, install the latch I have in hand, and light proof the system and I should be good to go.
I will eventually put a timer on this system by...
