  • To anyone wondering how it going. All is well and will finish in 2 wks. Getting greif about sharing my info so freely so may not be on under this name for long.
I'm fabricating these babies now an yes they are very productive and easy to work with I would like to market but don't know where to post my pics and products etc. ?
Yesterday added Azamax again. My 2nd spray in 5 days, on a low mix of 1/2 tsp per gallon. Spraying the rocks till wet and lightly spray foilage. No burn on plants either time. Once sprayed in the middle of their day and second spray after dark. Everything looks great and no sign of bugs anywhere.
A good place for info on pest is University of California Agriculture And Natural Resources or www.ipm.ucdavis.edu . They have lots of good info and remember Cali has been sharing plants with the rest of the US for years, so we have a lot of their pest.
I got my best results from azamax, or so I think. The azamax showed lots of dead with first application but my parterns didnt want to stop there, so we tried a different product in every resivour and system we have. This was very expensive and cost us alot of plants. Pyretheum is the sure way to kill them but your plants wont make a full flowering cycle because its just to hard on an aero system. If you use soil thats what I would try. Please follow up with the nematodes. I would like to no how you do with them.
Im lookin around, and im not seeing much results...
I just used some nematodes, and im hopint they work...
    Any advice....?
    ah the infamous bug sig....

i think i just googled animated bug gif under google images and stole the first one that caught my eye.

i did it after a nasy fungal gnat infestation last season lol
So this is what I know about root aphids. Do you have any help for me and our readers. Come on, share what you know. This is a big bussiness here and there is room for all of us. Help us, so we can do what we love and love what we do. PS I am a grower not a speller and they have nothing to do with each other.
We grow in an aeroponic system. We have tried bayer in our res and it works but you will lose a % of your plants. Follow the label and dont over do it with to much product, or leave it in to long. We have tried the pyretheum (sorry not sure of spelling on this one) It will kill your bugs but it also is very hard on your plants. Double strength will kill your bugs and your plants. Azamax works very well, but not completely kill all in an aero system. We also used a fungus(not sure of the name) and not sure how it worked with so much other stuff being added. I only have a few flyers in this new cycle, but not gone yet.
In the 1990's the red rice root aphid almost cost Disney World all their crops in "The Land". They used a good fungus that doesnt hurt your plants and kills the aphids. Still to this day they use this fungus (verticilliumlecani) to keep their aphids under control. They have not had an outbreak for years.
Root aphids are the talk of the town right now, but is anybody doing homework?
We have lost about 75% of our plants experimenting with a fix for these bugs. They are the worst bugs I have ever seen, in any grow of any kind of crop.
They birth a new cycle every 4 days. They can mutate to be all flyers in a cycle if the medium conditions are not right for them. That way they can keep reproducing. The next cycle could be a mix of non flyers and flyers or if the air is not right for them they can be all non flyers in a cycle. They will change colors every few cycles to blend in with medium, so they can go undetected in your crop. These bugs dig up into the roots till they can get in the stem and call it home. As they eat your plant they inject it with their honey dew and that causes root rot. Look at my pics for colors, sizes, and shapes. (Not to many pics out there to know what you got, so I threw in a few.)
