Dont worry. Listen first things first put what ever soil you are using in your pot then take your finger an poke a hole in the soil with your finger too the first line of your finger . then water your soil litely in the hole an around it lightly then cover the seed with your soil but dont pack it down an put it under the light at least 18-24 inches an go from there.
