Examples of GOP Leadership

I had to google the puppy thing. It’s an extension of the slaver mentality that has found such a hospitable residence in the GOP. Noem had no room in her heart for a service-class organism that would not serve enthusiastically and compliantly.

Not the sort of person I want for public office.

Also, she never once considered rehoming the animal. Once again, cruelty (dressed up as can-do pioneer spirit!) is the point.

"I hated that dog," Noem wrote in the excerpt.

So it was personal.
The way I read it, she killed the dog because it embarrassed her and she reacted an almost clinical description of how sociopaths react to being embarrassed.

edit: It's already made it into gif world

Chicks with guns. Joe Rogan Barstool Bros crowd are slobbering all over themselves over her. I have no doubt about it.

And crazy as a Mad Hatter. Be careful what you wish for, boyz.

Judge one's leaders by their actions, not their words.

G.O.P. Asks Secret Service to Move Protesters Away From Convention Venue
The Republican National Committee said moving protesters farther away from the venue in Milwaukee would reduce the risk of confrontations.

The Republican Party sent a letter to the Secret Service on Friday urging the police agency to keep protesters farther away from the venue for the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July.
The three-page letter, signed by Todd R. Steggerda, counsel to the Republican National Committee, objected to the placement of an area where protesters would be allowed to demonstrate. Mr. Steggerda argued that convention attendees would be forced to pass by the protesters on their way into the venue, raising the potential for confrontations.
“As recent college and university campus clashes make plain,” Mr. Steggerda wrote in the letter obtained by The New York Times, “forced proximity heightens tensions among peaceful attendees and demonstrators of differing ideologies and increases the risk of escalation to verbal, or even physical, clashes.”

He's not wrong. Proud Boys seek violent confrontations. Mitigation of the purported risk of physical clashes, Mr Steggerda, may lie in your choice of convention attendees.

regarding the "risk of violence",

Some police reported they were injured while breaking up campus protests. But this seems pretty tame compared to what we went through at the hands of the police and Republican administration's DHS goons during the summers of 2018-2020.

Note that Democrats aren't asking for extra security measures.

Trump Is Fine With States Monitoring Pregnant Women So They Don't Get Abortions
"I think they might do that," the GOP presidential nominee said of a scenario that sounds straight out of the dystopian novel "The Handmaid's Tale."
