The truth, I use soil with recharge for a little extra insurance that the soil microbes will buffer the pH just like the plant likes. Happy frog has microbials as well but who knows how it was stored it when it was bagged and what is still alive in it by the time it gets from California to Minnesota.
I found that dealing with living soil most of the time you should inspect the bag in terms of freshness (moisture) and smell.
A good soil mix should smell like a wet rain forest kinda thing and should be very moist, not drowning in water but not lacking in them.

I’ve been growing in soil for over fifty years
Soil is a ph buffer
Which means it will correct itself if your ph is a little off
My well water averages 8.1
Stop chasing perfection and learn to grow first before you decide ph is the problem
All the little changes you keep making are slowing/stalling your growth
Good luck
^ This!!! If those little things survive the nutrient onslaught, you're definitely going to have tiny burnt plants.

After transplanting, those tap roots are going to shoot to the bottom of that pot, and OD on nutrients.

No, I'm going to remove it today and replace with less much hot soil, then put back in with coco coir, soil and perlite. Keeping it simple until they get big.
