Exausting outside of grow room

If I got 3 fams each tent could they join to make one exaust duct? What if I add a booster fan right at the joining duct?

Do ducts needs be equal distance, will one try to push into the other without a booster fan? Will it be hard dialing in the booster fan to flow just right?

This can work, you'll want to either set a minimum fan speed on all 3 fans so they don't backfeed into another tent but even then the tent would just warm up and the controller would turn the fan on so still probably be fine. You could also use dryer vent flappers. I can't think of the name but they let the dryer exhaust air to outside but don't let outside air back in when the dryer is off.

Auto controllers are so nice and easy.

Just a wild idea, to retract my last comment, I measured space for a 8” duct to fit below the 6” which may mean I can just join 3 ducts at one port some how, just get it tight with the exaust hole panel in window.

I could always make another panel just same size and re make the ducts but would like it to fit in the same size panel or else have to rearrange the whole window thats made to be somewhat secure from just being opened from outside.

I didnt like the thought of more visible ducts because it passes as some kind of room ac unit which doesnt blow clouds in winter. So its working lovely so far. I can just paint it black so its harder to see what it is, how many ducts etc.

Will be uncomfortable seeing 3 ducts merged as one line traveling across the room but suppose it was on track to being somewhat rediculous anyway.

Just took a big ol dab of dry sift rosin.. Baked!! This tent is just for that. Excited, waiting on ventilation and get to pop beans right away.

Going to pop a fast buds, autos until I get my cloning down and can determine if its strain related why it wont root and base my values partly on keeping or ridding it.

Going to just dry sift it and press it. Its a real thing its weird how nugsmasher guys wont do it and advise against it but canucks grow demonstrated how to do just that and get 60% return.

Not looking for strains until I get my cloning down. Then will start looking for other strains, can have up to 4 in my setup.

Might have to pop autos in place of where I couldnt get clones to root. Thats the basics of my garden, perpetual grow.

All fan’d up. The 2x4x5’ is a shorty losing 8 cubic feet makes it barely negative air pressure. The 2x2 isn’t turned all the way up. The 3x3 veg doesnt have negative air pressure but its more cfm than a hurricane fan on low.

The hurricane on high made this acoustic rumbling sound I couldnt sleep to. Its a veg tent so it doesnt matter much it just needs to not overheat. It wont be venting hot air back in the room.

I chose black ducts from ac because its less obnoxious, blends in more doesnt catch your eye with a shine. All ducts have their own vent which has louvers each flange.

My idea of painting it all black worked, the louvers upside down so cannot see the shiny inside of ducts. So dark you cannot see any part of it until youre right next to it and even then its hard.

The existing screen blocks bugs and scatters the view even more making it hard to see what it is.

Putting hand in front of the two duct vents in the door can feel air rushing in even harder now. Two 6” passive intake. Everythings on max right now with dehuey.

Air is just scattering everywhere once it enters. My feet feel a constant flow in all directions. Its not very loud, all soothing sounds. No more than 50dba. I can sleep to this. Talk on phone, watch tv, talk to someone next to me.

It feels soooo fresh and breezy like it did when I made my first setup this way. Ready for summer heat, could be 75F in the place and would still be the same temp roughly in grow room.

I got a bigger tv on the wall that hides the ducts traveling to the vent panel. I can get used to this!

Thanks everyone for the help, I really love the setup. I almost went down the wrong route but am getting money back from other fan and moving on. I wouldnt be this far with out RIU’s help its why im here mostly.

Update, turns out the 3x3 is just huge and fabric is loose like Ive noticed on vivosun tents. The 2x4 isnt as bad but I just kept looking at the bulge in the 3x3 at the lower door opening. Assumed not negative pressure.

Looking at it again from the side, its sucking in. Where its more tight fitting on that side. Turned fan off, it puffs out. So its good!

Just wanted to retract that statement not being negative. I just stole from mars hydro site saying 4” fan is enough for a 3x3.

Question! My 2x2 has two large vents open perhaps why it wont suck in tent walls. The 130w led on max brings it to 83F in there.

The 3x3 has a bigger hotter light in there but is temps are fine.

I worry because when it gets 75-80F in the room itl be hotter in tents but not that much because the setup is built different.

Is it because its a small space that just cant keep up? Will closing a vent help? 4” fan should be plenty for it. Thats with led on max though.

Looking at the ppfd map of my fecida in 2x4 its so so. Just something to get going. The mars hydro ts1000 is ok but more concentrated center when hung low.

I never had a conversation on lights on here, just was told its about effeciency.

Any light recommendations? Looking for 600-900ppfd when hung higher for uniform pofd. Fire hazard reduced. Not too hot running.

Will cheap aftermarket lights make less quality weed? Ive grown from strip lights. few runs with these and once with the mars hydro.

Im still learning to keep green till harvest and so maybe doesnt matter until I do. As the plant needs be healthy to receive more light.

Eyeing hlg for their safety reputation and better led diodes. Mine are epistar and whatever the mars hydro is.

I just dont know why get so much ppfd capable lights if you only need 800ppfd. When dialed in it improves yield?

Just to start to convo on that I will want to upgrade the 2x4, 65w each side is pretty low.

Are these sufficient for veg for one pair each plant? Just two plants but want make the diy tent as short as possible with a quality safe led light that doesnt take up height.

Just trying to make a pvc frame and mylar as a diy tent to hold 2 plants one square foot each in one gal flora flex pots. PC fan exaust. Just want a fire safe led that does enough ppfd low watts. Like 14”x 25” thats 2 feet tall.

Just did a lux test on phone if what should be the same lights on my clone dome. 7000 edges, 15-18k center. Should do a easy square foot each side.

My converter site says its about 300-400ppfd so should be good. Its just to hold two clones that will be trimmed as needed to stay a square foot.

Just so I can have all time in world to make roots. Just potted another one. Yea that light is nice but I just realized with my short 2x4 will have trouble fitting carbon filter.

Lights for 2x2 arent common so its hard to find a good one. Upon looking at the ppfd map again its not bad but could be better. I think ill need a new tent if I get a new light.
