yes that should be enough space for 1 plant
if the roots also have room to grow down into the nutrient tank this will give more root space
if not you still have enough space for a nice rootmat to develop

Well how has it been going?

soil girls should be 6.5-7, i typically just feed with my tap water or 7.0 water. hydro (anything other than soil) 5.5-6.0. different strains in hydro like different ph's. i flush hydro with 5.5 water and typically feed with 5.8. this allows for a little room up or down for fluctuations and because the meters are only accurate to +/- 1 or maybe even 2 therefore it allows a little breathing room to keep it in the optimal range. i don't really worry about my soil too much. the microbial life in a good soil will naturally find a balance so long as you are not feeding them is an incredibly low or high ph. with experience you will learn the signs of an improper ph. generally they are wierd looking leaves. uneven growth on the leaves, curled up or down or twisted sideways. they will act fucking when its bad but if you have a good eye you can see even the slightest change.

hydroton in smart pots, cutting edge solutions, they were from clone. just use common sense when they are seedlings and you will be fine. tap water also has plenty of nutes for seedlings until they get their 2nd set of leaves then start 'em off easy with a lite does of nutes (if even that soon)

What type of medium were you using? Perlite/vermiculite? What about when they were seedlings?

BJ was my first indoor grow just over a year ago. i used the same shit i am now, just in a tent. So, i had a 600w light w/ a luculux electronic balast so i vegged with a Ushio MH conversion bulb foormonth and then switched to 12/12 and switched bulbs to an GE extra PAR HPS bulb. I used Cuttting Edge Solutions nutes at abouT 1 AND A QUARTER STRENGTH (bj IS SUPER STRONG AND CAN TAKE A HEAVY DOES). They were also in 3 gal smart pots with straight hydroton i think i was flooding 3 times a day when lights were on. its ag reat strain i would have loved to have kept it but i had gotten the clonnses from my buddy and they were infected with powdery mildew so i got rid of all of them.
