No, it takes the light that was wasted off the side of the bulb not facing the plant and reflects it towards the plant, you want as much light reflection in your flower area as possible

I think the reason people are nay saying on that one is the color (I'm guessing) comes from painting the glass not actual spectrum changes...I wouldn't trust a green party bulb in my flower room at all, idk, look up the Kelvin temps for the bulbs, that will be your answer
