u should check the ph of the water thats whats causing the root rot the pump isnt the reason u should change the water what kind of water do u use?

should i also change the water once a week or so ? what are the correct steps for good success with the aerogarden ?

don't take out anything.. just unplug the water pump...

no see i got root rot right above the sponge at the base of the plant are you supposed to unhook the water lines that water the sponges constantly

if you need to stop the pump working, the easiest thing to do would be unplug the aerogarden and just run a power cord to the lights on a timer. you shouldn't do this tho until you get a decent root system going. feel free to post questions in my latest journal. all the best.
