Thanks guys, great info here.
Unfortunately, I cannot afford to buy expensive ventilation setups with $200 fans, speed controllers and so on... Was looking for a ghetto solution to my problem.
Guess, there is no cheap way around it.
I just removed the exhaust duct fan together with the carbon...
Thanks for the replies, guys.
I will take your advice and will try to invest in a better exhaust fan. My budget is very limited, though.
Also, noise is a concern in my case, because the grow box is in my bedroom, just 3 feet away from my bed.
How noisy are those Vortex VTX fans? Anything above...
So, I just built a new grow box that measures 150cm tall, 40cm deep and 75cm wide.
I am using a homemade LED light that is made out of regular LED bulbs with their globes removed and sure enough I ran into some overheating issues.
The temperature goes as high as 45 degrees centigrade (113...
Thanks guys. so far I couldn't find any stores selling replacement covers.
The reason why I want to buy just the cover is two fold.
First, I live outside of the USA and I don't want any customs officers to see that I am ordering a grow tent.
And second, I don't want to pay huge money for...
Hi!
I'd like to know if there is a place on the internet that sells replacement Mylar covers for grow tents.
You know, just the black cover (or bag or hood or whatever it is called...) but without the tubes.
I already have the frame built out of tubes and I can customize it's size to fit a...
Guys, please let me know if this HLG board is any good???
It is under $200 and I am tempted to buy it.
Is it any better than the COB light from my first post?
@buyyouabeer unfortunately, I cannot afford the lights from your links. I am limited to around $200.
I did a research and it turned out that that the CXB3590 LED chip that I want to buy is the same that is used in the popular "Optic 1" grow lights.
This guy claims that the 54 Watt Optic 1 can...
Hi guys, I wan to buy a powerful COB LED light with a glass lens to replace my DIY light fixture with.
I came across this COB CXB3590 light. On paper it looks great and the price is the lowest I could find on the internet. It is within my budget and I will probably buy two of these - one 5000K...
I just measured the Lumen output of my homemade LED light fixture.
It was 38 000 Lumens, lol! Two and a half times more than my guesstimaton of 15 000.
And that was measured "dry" - without Mylar or any other reflective materials around the light. With Mylar, the output will reach 47 000 Lumens.
Interesting, I just noticed that Walmart also sells a vent kit that uses a bathroom fan. The kit even has one positive review from a happy buyer, LOL! :D
Can't wait for my fan to arrive, so I can test if it will move any air at all through my carbon filter.
I was thinking about what nc208 said...
Yeah, I suspect that this booster fan won't work too well when combined with a carbon filter that causes a major air flow obstruction. We will see... If companies are selling kits that use a booster fan, then maybe these vent setups work for small grow boxes like mine. And since no body has...
I already grew two autoflowering plants under this same 15 000 Lumen panel.
One plant yielded a 800ml jar full of hard nugs. Not sure how many grams it was, as I never weighed it, but I assume it was around 25 grams. Not too bad for a small autoflowering plant.
The other plant was too sensitive...
Each bulb draws 9 Watts from the wall. The total electricity consumption of all 15 bulbs is only 135 W.
Each bulb is rated at 806 Lumens with the opaque plastic globe on, so, it is around 1000 Lumens per bulb with the globe removed. The whole panel is around 15 000 Lumens - enough for 3 square...
