I recommend antiseptic with pool shock. Calcium based is preferred over Sodium (household bleach) due to the potential toxicity of Na. Others prefer bio remediation, so your choice. Best of all would be a chiller, but cost is a factor.

Popped an RQS Critical on 11/5 along with a couple strains from other vendors. They're all in hydro and switching to 13/11 schedule today. First time running Critical so any experiential input re: stretch, nute tolerance, *realistic* flowering time, etc., would be much appreciated.

If I needed a new light, I'd be looking at a DIY build with Bridgelux gen3 strips, >40 watt/sqft, spread out to cover the entire canopy. Strips + drivers <= $0.50/watt IMHO, unless you want to grow xmas tree plants, stay away from the quantum boards unless they're adequately dispersed. Strips...

Compost tea takes care of my nutrient needs in soil, but megacrop would work as well as any other salt-based nutrient regimen. Certainly could be used to address any deficiency.

Mega Crop is the answer. Been using it exclusively in hydro for 3 years. Complete, cheap and clean, with good buffering, and dead simple.

Maybe dilute your hard water with distilled to save some cash if it seems too high, but it would have to be pretty high for me to worry about it. Folks can get carried away trying to fix a non-problem. When you implement the "pool shock" treatment initially, be sure to soak your entire root...

If you start in direct sun from germination, and if they get daily exposure to several hours of direct sun, yes.

If the seedlings have been started indoors, without direct sunlight, you should leave them out under partial/dappled sunlight for a couple of days before putting them under direct sun.
