There's nothing wrong with a small plant in a big pot. I go straight from 1 gallon to 400 gallon all the time. I find it better to reduce transplant shock, and transplanting bigger plants is a pain.

I don't agree with the less stretch theory. I can get nodes 1/4 inch for the first 10 under a 6500k.
