I'm a 46 year old curmudgeon. After working at a couple of universities, I gave up academia to start a prison reform/community organizing foundation designed to assist prisoners as they return to society. Currently, my team is in the prison capitol of the United States--Louisiana. After we complete our work in building a state chapter, we'll move on to Texas. My organization is well-funded through many private donors, including the Carnegie Foundation, the Brookings and Cato Institutes, and the American Enterprise Institute. Yes, conservative and liberal think tanks support us financially, demonstrating that we do good work.
