i'm kinda stuck with using LED's as we will be growing in a rented apartment (3rd floor) and the cops DO patrol around the hall ways and stairwells with thermal imaging cameras, and in the interests of reasearch we rented a thermeal img camera, and found it almost impossible to hide the heat source from the three typed of lights we tried (sodium bulbs were by far the worst) but i have done a litle research regarding the led system, many are availiable, but for plant growth you need red and blue spectrum lights and i think i have found one that works, time will tell but thanks for the post, will let you know how it GROWS!
