This reminds me of my cluster-Led bulb grows where i stacked and snaked as many LED bulbs as i could coming from a single origin socket.. Days of experimentation on a 3 buck budget with a 5 gram plant.. checking on it every 20 minutes... :D

Just changing tact a bit... Another reason to run 2 or more drivers in a fixture ..is that it acts as insurance in the rare event one of your drivers fails, Half (or more) of the fixture is still illuminating whilst you source a replacement. Certainly beats keeping candles lit on a 12 hour...

Pumice is also an alternative that i finds suspends in the soil better ..over perlite which has a tendency to 'float' I havent added any aeration amendments since my intial setups... I employ the resident worms which also prevents them from being lazy... :D

Never heard of egchip.com I go to octopart.com to find my LED strip parts... Any reason why you are looking at gen 2 boards when gen 3 are pretty much the same price? (or gen 3 high output for less build parts)
