I was using the 3 part gh for a couple years then dropped the grow and went with the Lucas formula. I’ve never looked back the only nutes I use are flora micro, bloom and cal mag. Cheap and effective

It is the biggest problem when using a dwc system get the res temps down and get some good bacteria going

I would imagine the smell you speak of is because your res is too warm. Switch out the water ASAP give the root ball a good rinse use a low pressure shower or something. Make sure you have no light leaks into your bucket. If you can’t get your temps down by playing around invest in a cooler. I...
