  • The male did not encounter stress if not mistaken. I had
Him in a 2gal pot. Watered till I felt it was almost dry. I had
In a small pot only to breed n then chop down. I actually chopped
It in half n left the lower half n watered as always. In the second
To third week is when I noticed the hairs. I then completely
Did away with it. I'm bummed bc i feel the new beans will be
Hermies. I have harvested the girls a bit early to avoid bean
Maturation. I breed my favorite bc I wasn't able to clone her.
Thinking the new beans will have added spice but after this
The added spice will b hermies, lol.
So with your advice I will start over
Again. I will have to some how rejuvenate my favorite to
Reveg if it's possible. I took 3 cuttings about 4 wks in and I'm
Trying to baby them to sprout over. I think 1 will not make it. The
Other two look q ll promising. Wish me luck.
Oh also it's all pots n soil. 7gal for girls n 1, 2gal for one male after
    They r sexed.
    **From my understanding**-
Any plant can when given enough stress, but some are much more likely to.
This happens in nature and is actually a defense against becoming extinct.
The likely hood of any certain plant to go hermie depends on its genes.
Stress is the trigger to make a plant hermie.
When a girl gets stressed she turns to male to try and survive the harsh conditions.

So all that said the answer is maybe.
Since either is possible either could happen, but since your male went hermie it is more likely.
How much stress did the male encounter?
The fact that the male went hermie would make me think hermies are more likely than if the mother had hermie traits.
I am not sure how plants pass these genes to each other.
If the male did not encounter much stress to make it hermie I think I would start over.
There is no definite answer to your question I am afraid, but hope this helps you some.
Maybe search the breeder sub section in the advanced growing section of the forum.
