Hi I am a novice and think I should start to harvest. But I have read in Spain that harvest is October, Bud hairs are turning brown fast, also I have seen caterpillars what should I do?

Hi I'm new here and a novice grower. I have grown plants for my own use and today noticed a caterpillar about 1/2 long. Wot should I do. I only have run of the mill insecticide. Have also noticed brown dead patches of bud. Urgent help needed please.
