I like impressionism too. France is cold... And the attitude of people varies greatly so it's hard to gauge who to approach to ask for directions. It has alot of greenery.
Holland is beautiful and can get quite hot. Super chilled out people speaking English, Dutch, French and german. I used them all except Dutch. If you ever go, go camping. A tent of three for 3 days cost us $35 each. Compared to hundreds in a hostel @_@ We kept costs Waaaay down.
