does speed drying fuck up your buds?

that guy from spain in his dvd said it would

does it really?

like letting them dangle in front of a fan?

or maybe in front of the ac or heater?

i dont want to fuck any of my buds up that ive cared for for so long (i love my babies even though they're DEAD:twisted:)

oh yeah and for curing he said cold dark place so how about the fridge (or would moisture condense to the inside of the jars or something)

oh yeah and i get tons of silica gel packets at work and even though i really want to, they say do not eat. would those things poison my babies?

oh and another idea i just got . . . how about a layer of calcium chloride, then a screen with the bud on top inside a sealed jar?

I admit... I dont have anywhere to get bud in my new state. I quick dried some weed... in like a few hours. It burned my throat like a bitch. It was nasty and actually didnt even smell much like weed. But I got high. Not really high, but high enough to get the munchies and forget that I watched 3 movies. I remember something about napoleon dynamite. anyhow... I miss good old fashioned ripe stinky quality bud that makes you see the smoke move in slow motion. You wont get that from early-picked quick dried crap. But when you miss bud as much as I do after 8 months without it, it was worth it.

Im going against the grain,it depends on what your calling quick drying or speed dry, sure a microwave or some other 20 minute drying process will kill your smoke but a properly done quick dry tastes just as good as a slow dry/cure.

My buds are done to perfection in my speed dryer 3 days & taste good as hell, infact they taste exactly as good as the buds i dried using conventional slow dry methods & the high is just as good also.

Invest some time learning how to make a proper dryer, make one & dry your harvest half in the dryer & half using the slow dry method, then let others decide which tastes better, there will be no consensus in favor of one or the other.

Determining which tastes better your own self will not work, others need to decide & do not tell them anything, just give them 2 joints & let them tell you which weed is better,if you do it yourself the outcome will likely be biased.

oK i WILL GO AGAINST THE GRAIN ALSO.. Bull Fucking Shit... You must smoke skanky buds then. If you grow weed correctly, it will cure like a fine wine. But hey if you like mad dog 20/20 go for it.....

If that makes you feel better about things be my guest but showing us the bud dryer you used that gave you such terrible smoke would be more helpfull, instead of the fine wine reference,or insulting the buds i grow.

Wine tasting is not a good analogy to use in this case, much of what surrounds wine tasting is placebo & myth, same applies to mj.

There are a million different ways to build a proper bud dryer as long as you follow the principals outlined in this thread in the grow faq,i have built one following Al Fuct's example & it works a dream, others are using Al's dryer with great success also.

I quite agree.

While 3 day perfect drying sounds great, I think this person/thread is talking/asking about more like 3 hours, which will always cause bud/smoke degradation in potency and flavor.

With my very limited experience drying and curing (about 2 lbs of herb over 3 harvests) it's my opinion that a slower dry (8-10 days) paired with a proper cure (3 week minimum) produces a nicer bouquet of aromas and an overall smoother smoke than shorter (2-4 day) dry times. In fact I believe drying and curing is just as much an art as growing can be.

My 2cents.

Im not trying to argue any point but what you just posted is pretty much a blanket statement without giving us the other methods of drying, & or equipment you used in order to come to this conclusion.
