First Ever Grow. Cotton Candy/THC Bomb 600w

What up people,

Im doing my first ever grow and thought i would start a diary on here in the hope that a few of you guys can point me in the right direction if any problems occur.

I have a grow tent with carbon filter, 600w HPS light and currently have two plants on the go. Both from seed purchased from Herbies pick n mix. Both seeds germinated but the THC bomb (excuse the pun) exploded from the seed! it is was ahead of the cotton candy already.

These are the little ones after about 36 hours in the soil. I am currently vegging at 18/6

Looking good! What is the environment of the room? What medium are you using? Only two straight from seed is a little bit of a gamble considering the sex probabilities, or are they feminized? Subbed!:beer::cool:

erm, not too sure what you mean by environment...... newbie! haha

they're both feminised, medium is Verve multi purpose compost.

Temps, humidity, and room size if possible. How often are you watering and what kind of water?

Make sure to take your pictures right after lights out with the flash on your camera. This will stop the discoloration/lines appearing in the photos

i havent got a themometer yet pal, gonna get one this week, just doing it by feel at the moment, doesnt seem too hot. I have the window open in that room so that keeps it cool, especially with the weather were having lateley!

water when the soil is dry with standard tap water left to stand for 24 hours

Get yourself a pH tester. You can buy them for as little as $15 on eBay. Also, you want a hygrometer and thermometer. You can get both in a single unit for relatively cheaply as well.

Also, although I know people who use HPS from the start and love it, an MH will reduce some stretch through the veg period. This isn't advice by any means, just wanted to point that out.

Spek9 is right, these tools will prevent many headaches later on. I wouldn't worry about the bulb for now, it sounds like you've got plenty on your plate. What size room are you working with?

I am dealing with a low ph issue right now so for sure get a meter. I had one but it was from 10 yes ago and seemed to be working fine until they started locking out nutes. The growth is slow right now and I think I'm close to back on track but it would have been alot easier to prevent the issue to begin with.

It is stretching a little. This is from lack of air movement but also from the type of bulb you are using. When you implement a fan make sure the air from the fan just wiggles the plants rather than blowing them over. I suggest to not move the light closer until you have a thermometer as frying them so little is very easy. Do you have an enclosed space yet? Do you need ideas on how to go about building a room? Feel free to PM me anytime.

Thanks mate, i have a little fan in there now so i am getting the "wiggle"

i will pop out and buy a thermometer today, whats the ideal temp?

I am growing in a 100 x 100 x 160 cm tent

Ideal temp is typically 72-76. Some strains can deal with pretty wide temperature fluctuations either way (such as an auto flowering mountain strain which can survive drastically lower temperatures). In the veg state it is also important to keep humidity up in the room (above 35%, ideally around 65%). This can be done be fine misting the air in the tent every so often or by leaving a cup of water in the room. How're the girls lookin?

Hey.. I grew the THC Bomb earlier this year.. Maybe this information could be useful to you :)

After 56 days of 12/12 i used Ripen for 9 days and then flushed for 3 days harvesting 68 days after putting them in 12/12 and i was PERFECT.. Yielded good and exelent quality..

I'm growing 4 THC bombs right now, 2 weeks old. I have 4 other strains going right now and the bomb is blowing them away =)

I want to warn everyone growing the THC BOMB to watch for hermies. I had 6 females and 3 of them have hermied on me. I caught them early and I have only found a few seeds. When I found the first one I thought it was the light cycle issue I caused, left them in a garage for 2 days before I took them outside. But then I had one go hermie on me in my room and I thought it was due to the pH issue but it never showed any sign of lock out and had the biggest colas of all my ladies, got one dried zip from her and she was only in flower for 4 weeks. Haven't smoked any yet as she is curing right now. Then I found another hermie for a total of 3 out of 6. It can't be a coincidence and half a crop flipping is too much to ignore.

Hmm have grown it 2 times.. 4 each time... No problems like you state.. Only problem i got was 2 out of 8 didnt like as much nutes as the 6 others...
