WTF are you even talking about? You don't have to wait "weeks" for anything. You can top the plant after it shows the 3rd node if you like. He just used that as a guideline, but never said you have to wait. Read his updated FAQ. But why would you do that? it seems like you never even bothered in the first place. If it is taking you multiple weeks to get an extra two or three nodes, you have a problem.

I fell for all the marketing crap my first few grows, had like 20 bottles of nutes and all kinds of garbage.
Current set up kept it simple; mixed my own soil with slow release ferts, water with an all purpose and the grow is my most stable one yet, all I do is water every few days and watch the plant grow. No topping, scrog, defoliation or other tricks, just good genetics, in good soil, fed tap water. Glad I found the UB threads!

Microbeman is a very good source for information, I won't deny that. He's a big contributor at icmag..... I don't use miracle grow, I use a nice amended soil mix that I mostly just water throughout the grow.
I have never stressed a seedling in my life, never will. Topping a plant isn't a cause of stress, and hardly contributes to a hermie.

I don't use tumblers...real men use shovels. I have something better than a tumbler. It's called a worm bin. You also said to not wait and top after third node. That's definitely stressing a seedling. Just send me your dead seedlings and hermies so I can put them in my worm bin.

The truly amusing thing about this thread is that a hobbiest takes issue with a professional horticulturalist. UB has multi-year experience, likely requisite degrees, basic intuitive skill set, makes his living at horticulture and grows large.... you bring what to the table? Fine, this is a hobby to you and you can afford to fawn over a few plants. BTW post count at RIU hardly denotes growing experience in the real world

many folk on forums seem to want to give the impression that growing weed is much harder than it really is
Forums tend to be full of noobs complaining about "stress" "hermies" and "light leaks"
these newbies far outweigh the oldtimers that think they know everything
i tried to get a friend to join some forums so he would stop pestering me all the time for advice
he said he looked at them but he could not handle all the bullshit he could see
folk telling each other their plants look great when they clearly did not
some of the smaller/private forums/boards have a more serious approach

It has become apparent to me from previous dealings on other threads with RedcarpetMatches that he is part of a different collective of thought, while i do not agree with this mindset i am happy for those who wish to believe in this kind of thing to do so, although i do not agree with all the preaching and trolling.
