I need help please

This is my very first time growing. I'm doing it in a closet with 3 cfls(23 watt). I checked my plant before bed last night(pics 1 and 2) so I'm pretty sure this happened within the last 10 hours.

The lowest leaves on my Northern Lights plant are turning. They were fully green yesterday and today the tips are brown and wilted(3rd and 4th pics). I watered it last night with tap water that I'd let sit for some hours. The day before the cotyledons finally wilted (5th pic). I didn't do anything different from what I've been doing this whole time. My first instinct is that my plant finally needs nutes but I'd rather use no nutes at all than have nute burn so I haven't added any thus far. The last picture is my plant right now.

Any advice is welcome and appreciated. Thank you!

Your first pic looks like some purple starting on a few leaves. could be Phosphorus deficiency.
Could be your water, letting your Tap water sit only works if your city added chlorine to your water.
Does not work for chloramine.
No feeding yet, that could be the problem also.
IMO-find out what your pH is water/soil, give her some food 1/2 strength. see what happens. make sure your not over watering.
Remember "Love Kills" don't over do water/food

Flush your system with plain, pH'ed water. Give your plants some time to recover, and start them with a fraction of the nutrients you were giving them before working your way up to more nutrients. Many nutrients come with instructions to feed your plant more nutrients than most plants actually need. It's good business for them if you use more nutrients. However, in my experience it's a good idea to view the feeding charts that come with nutrients as the maximum amount of nutrients and actually start with much less.

Check the pH and flush system. An excess of Fe and Zn may cause a phosphorus deficiency. If you've tried everything else, then you may try adding a bit more phosphorus to your feeding schedule and see if that helps clear up the problem. Cannabis plants love phosphorus, and therefore it is unlikely that you will give your cannabis too much phosphorus.
 
If the ph of the soil is to low the plant will not be able to take up phosphorus. The only real way to fix a soil ph problem is to transplant into ph'ed soil. To attempt ammending the soil while the plant is in it will most likely do more harm than good .
 
It's hard to tell from your pictures but it looks like you're out-growing the container/provided soil as the plants have depleted the nutrients in your soil. Adding nutrients at this point is optional, but not recommended as I would suggest transplanting them into 3-5 gal pots.
 
Thank you so much for your replies! The leaf damage is more purple/brown which is why i went with phosphorous deficiency over nutrient burn. I will first transplant it to a bigger pot and if that doesn't work i will try adding a low dose of nutes as suggested.

What should I look for to know if it's getting better. Not much has happened since I posted yesterday. There's the same amount of damage on both leaves and it doesn't seem to have spread anywhere. Does that change anyone's opinion?
 
Once a leaf has been damaged, they won't get better. You want to keep an eye on your new growth to see if the problem persist.
 
Transplant her into a bigger container with some good soil like any of the FoxFarm mixes or pro-mix [NOTHING FROM THE HARDWARE STORE]. Make sure your water is ph'd. Give her some organic nutes, or half-strength if using chemical nutes. Too many noobs be using that miracle-gro/pre-fertilized soil and that screws up the nute levels right from the beginning. You'll know when shes getting better. Trust me, she will let you know. Good Luck!
 
Apparently, according to research I have learned through posting in organic threads, many new growers have claimed that miracle grow soil for seedlings worked throughout all stages of the plants growth. I grow in hydroton/lava rock so I don't have soil ph problems to deal with.

May I point you to my signature thread "Miracle Grow vs. Happy Frog". Too many noobs buy into the myths about this soil.

If he transplants, he shouldn't need to give nutrients as the soil will have ample supply for another 3-4 weeks.
 
Me...if I were going to look for dirt for a few plants I'd go looking for old paved parking lots that haven't been kept and the weeds are growing up around them. I'd scoop the soil from where the fine gravel meets the earth to get a mixture of both. I'd also get some gravel to put in the bottom of the pots as well.
 
hey those very bottom leaves will do that. normal. pull them off throw away don't think about them again . plant looks very healthy. I want it in my garden. I love northern lights. the yield is the best and the buzz my favorite relaxing buzz. very easy to clone from. plant is very good for a newbie or lazy grower never home like me.
