Reservoir DIY Or What's The Dilly...

Hey all,

Been looking to set up my system and reading on here a lot! My question is should I set up a reservoir system for ease of maintenance or just have separate? I'm asking cause it seems that having separate spots with multiple air stones would provide better oxygen for the plants vs a reservoir system where the water/oxygen is distributed.

I like the idea of using a reservoir but I also want the healthiest, fastest growing plants possible for my limited grow space.. Any input would be appreciated!

Pumping air into water does not oxygenate it.
Its the turbidity caused by the bubbles that moves the water around so new Water is touching the roots so it Can pass on an oxygen molecule.
So with that in mind an air stone under every plant is the norm.

Since I do Ebb n Flo my air stone stirs up my resevoir then when I flood my plant the new water supplies the new Nutes and new oxygen as well as beneficial bacteria from the bottom up.

Are you planning on DWC or Under current DWC?

In my opinion 1-3 buckets is cool for DWC. Any more than that and you should probably start thinking about a recirculating system of some sort. Shit starts getting time consuming with lots of individual buckets.

Ahh ok so if I where to go with the aero sprayers then I wouldn't need the air stones?

You are my favorite movie of all time. Can't even describe how much it means to me.
I've seen it so many times dude! So much meaning to it I love it.. Unfortunately it came out around 9/11 so everyone was too distracted to know about it although it does have a following more so in the UK.

Thats what I'm worried about.. people say clean once a week but with all individual buckets that could be time consuming if im starting with say 6-8 plants... And the adding water part seems it would be easier with a reservoir especially with the lower profile setup I have to make due too height constraints of my attic..

Has anyone had good experience with the SuperPonic 8 or 16? I never saw anything good about them but I saw good things about the StealthHydro Bubbleponics.. Looks like the SuperPonic is even better then the StealthHydro (as far as build quality/system) so I couldnt imagine it being worse.

I run a recirculating system. I don't see how it could get much eaiser then what I run . I don't run stones in my resivor. I run 3 stones in each of my 8 totes. I want my bubbles coming up rigtt under the root balls :-P

Im now thinking should run a reservoir too especially if I plan to scrog.. Would save a lot of hassle with maintenance. Do you have any pics of your setup?

I kind of wish there was a low profile cheap system I could get instead of building one and risking messing it up... Not that I'm lazy but my seeds should be here soon and I'm anxious to start

Building is the way to go if ya ask me. You can make it fit whatever your needs are. LST and SCROG can help keep things low for you and still give you good yields. You shouldn't really phuck anything up if you have a good plan. All the DIY shit I've done has been pretty cheap for the most part. Check out HygroHybrid over on youtube if you wanna go to canna-college online. :bigjoint:

Thats what I'm thinking.. Been looking at the Rubbermaid Roughneck 10 gallon totes cause they're only 9" tall, seem good low profile for my setup.

Im subscribed to that channel, that dude is awesome!!

Supz Donnie. I actually bought a Stealth Hydro system like 2-3 yrs ago when i first started growing. The bubbleponics works well for the whole veg cycle and growth is awesome, but once the roots hit the rez the whole top-feed manifold they give you really gets in the way tbh. Massive root systems should just be expected with DWC and with that being said....a water pump at the bottom of your root-infested reservoir during flower just creates a mess lol. I really wish I woulda just built my own system from scratch. WAAAAAY cheaper and just as/more effective. I posted that grow on RIU if you wanna check it out. Loads of pics etc. Dont wanna hijack ur thread nymore, but yea DWC phuckin rulez and will totally blow your mind!

Just bought 3 Rubbermaid roughneck 10 gallon totes, I picked the 10 gallon cause those are the lowest profile I could find (got some height constraints in my attic), cheap too like $7 each!

Couldnt find mylar sheets or grow pots locally so I'm going to order those online.

Getting ready to build still gotta order more equipment.. I always get hung up on dumb shit like what size net pots I should use lol..
So you're saying u don't top feed anymore, if so how'd u get the seed going before the roots hit the water?
