It truly is The Final Countdown.

Today it is Day 99 and 51 since signs of flowering began so she is now officially into her readiness window (50 to 75 days).

Here are her latest trich shots. I'm no expert but they look mostly cloudy to me with some amber. I reckon she's ready....ish.
Argh...what to do, what to do? Chop her or give her another week?

She's at her peak potency right now

INCREDIBLE!!! Been reading this thread just looking at the progress, you give me hope Lady Helena! <3 good shit!
Hey Macto, thanks for stopping by and reading through the thread. I admire your perseverance - lots to read.
I'm glad that it has given you hope - honestly, if I can do it, anyone can!
Do you have a grow on the go or are you about to start one? Let me know.

I'll be starting my second grow soon so stick around.

Alright?

Been MIA for a couple of weeks, I know, busy smoking the efforts of my labour.

So, as usual, have learnt from my mistakes. Main learning - just wait a bit longer.

Pearl hit 61% humidity and went into the curing zone on 2nd of August I think. Obviously, this being my very first crop, I couldn't wait to try her immediately.

Honestly I was a little disappointed. She smelled wonderful and tasted good, very fruity, but the effect wasn't so great. Despite this, I can say that I have paid good money for far worse on many, many occasions, so shouldn't really be too disappointed as, lets face it, it's free weed!!

Now a rather annoying thing happens in West London in August - the good weed dries up in the run up to Carnival, so faced with the prospect of buying shite or smoking my jar of home grown Jamaican Pearl - I couldn't help myself. I did intersperse with bought stuff to make her last longer.

By the time I pulled out the last bud, at around 3.5 weeks of curing, the smoke had become much stronger. She was really good! Gutted I smoked her all before she reached a good potency!

You live and learn my friends, live and learn.

Anyway, then a little bonus cone! Was rummaging through a bedside draw a couple of days ago and found a sneaky little baggie of Pearl I'd hidden away and forgotten about (it doesn't take much for me to forget about things...). Me and my sis smoked her and she was lush! So that was almost 5 weeks of curing.

Next time around.....

My problem with the waiting bit is, it just feels wrong to pay for it when you've got a jar of the stuff sitting in your wardrobe!

On a side note, remember the New Recruits? I germ'd 4 more seeds (without thinking through the implications i.e. another 4 months with no holiday!!! arghhhhhh....) and then totally ignored them. I shouldn't have planted them..oh well.

Anyway, 3 of them died (not surprising) and the last one I took last minute pity on and decided to put it in a bigger pot and stick it outside to see what happened. Poor little thing was tiny at 3 or 4 weeks. Actually, I'll have to look back and find out exactly how old this plant is now.

So the upshot is she has done quite well outside on her own. She's at least twice as tall as the Girls were, but obviously I haven't done any LST on this one. Let's call her Long, Tall Sally for now. Let's face it, she could be Long, Tall Simon for all I know.

Because I have put no effort into her, and I don't know if she's female yet I thought thought what the heck, I'll try some cloning practice. If it turns out to be male I'll have got some good practice in, and if she turns out to be female and my clones take then it's happy days!

So, last night I sliced off 4 clones! Ouch!

I mixed up some cutting compost with maybe 40% Pearlite and watered with ph5.5. I also dipped the ends in some organic rooting gel. Fingers crossed hey!

This morning's Clone Report:

Clone #1 - standing tall, looks good.
Clone #2 - standing up but wilting a little at the top.
Clone #3 - completely and utterly wilted...:-(
Clone #4 - wilting, just not as bad as #3...

I'll take some pics later. x

OMG, have just looked back through my pics and the New Recruits emerged from the soil starting on 22 June! JUNE!!!! That means this poor little fella is 12 weeks old!
Oh dear, just shows you what love and attention , or huge lack of it, can do...

I feel really guilty...:-(. I'll take a pic now so you can see what I mean. Hang on...

Welcome back! Too bad about the current state of your crop :-(. Sounds like the song: " I was gonna tend to my plants, but I got high . . ."

I did the same thing with smoking too soon out of the cure. I found it harder than wait for them to be ready to harvest. At least with that, you can watch them change. I hope I get enough this harvest so that even if I DO sneak some early, there'll still be plenty properly cured stuff left.

Clone #3 does indeed look pretty bad, but I wouldn't give up until it's all brown and dried out.

Hope you can get back on track!

[FONT=&amp]I'm on a perpetual grow now Lady H and am more concerned with learning about my grow environment, soil mixes, cultivation techniques and the like.

So my form of sharing now comes in the form of passing on findings, rather than using the grow thread format.

Although I will do another one at some point, I've got my hands full atm wiith an overflowing tent and plants at different stages, kinda time consuming.
