Better to feel like an idiot than to actually BE one. Thought I'd post this here, it is a pic of the hydro rack getting close to harvest. The Northern Lights clones did well in veg and in flower, this is how the rack is turning out. There are 4 huge buds that, because of how they are supported, look like 2. I'll cut these as soon as they have more than 50% cloudy trichomes, soon, they are flushing now.

My first couple harvests were very exciting, especially the plants that make the huge buds. Now the excitement is tempered by the dread of all the work of trimming. Got the disposable gloves, bottle of iso and spring loaded trimmers ready. This rack is at 11 weeks, the NL is not ready yet, but the Sensi Star is done, and a White Widow also getting cut and trimmed today.

Wow, man...that is among one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen! Absolutely monstrous...still shaking my head in amazement. Godspeed on the trim!

Good lord 420c, that is a huge cola! Nice job! I bet that cola is taller than me! I hear yea on the harvest thingy, we feel the same way. We enjoy certain parts, like seeing how everything turned out, scissor hash and the contact high make it tolerable. That is all CSUfan and I did this last weekend was trim. Have fun and wow, I cannot believe that bud.

Damn 420C, talk about a freaking kola!

Been making Kushdr. (my unknown Kush cut) cannolis and snapped a few pics of the 73 micron. Smells like fuel, skunks, and rubber after just a few days curing. I really pressed this one a lot. Probably a total of 5 times of flattening, re-rolling into a ball, and flattening again.

Bsh, amazing grow and I am in awe of the 73 micron hash. Maybe I should throw away all my other bags, that looks amazing. I just did the bubble process and will run again tomorrow, but still expect to see the green glob that dries to a rock after all that work. What is your secret to soft, almost translucent hash?

I am using 8 bags plus the 220, not sure why, because I just put all the scraped up hash into the same container. Last time was a bitch squeezing the water thru the screens, the black one seemed to be clogged up??? Bought a different paint stirrer, the plastic one (large) from homie depot, works better than the metal one from Lowes. Certainly the alcohol extraction method yields more but without a distiller it seems a waste to boil off all that Everclear into the air. Looking at a $200 still to recover the alcohol, still working it out, going to try Med's tincture again with the glycerin. If I had a still I could make some moonshine. Hmmm...

Sounds like you are beating the crap out of your trim 420! Bsh has got it down to a science for sure, love his full melt.

Totally, man, this is something I've thought about before: how can we preserve the alcohol (and, is it worth it?). Please post any experiments you run, and any results.

Cheers!

Here is one of my favorite little plants. it is CH9 Vintage 2006. I got it as a freebie last year and I am on my 3rd flowering now. It finishes at six weeks of flowering. last time I pulled it at 40 days from the start of 12/12. This is from clones so it goes faster than the first run.
it is 4 weeks in flower today, and I will be chopping this one in two weeks. It really starts frosting up in the last two weeks.
It really starts to crank the last two weeks. not a big yielder though. A couple oz. of good gooey Afghani Hash Plant is all P1020043.jpgP1020040.jpgP1020050.jpgP1020052.jpgyou get.

Thanks for the kind words 420C and Indi. Honestly the best thing I can say is watch Frenchy's recent videos on water hash extraction (trueno posted the video links in Chewberto's hash thread) and mimic his process.

Yeah the 73ish seems to be the money for full melt, however I believe it varies in strain, because of trich heads and their size, so some full melt can fall into other microns.... I believe fresh, or fresh frozen trim is a big help in preserving flavonoid, terpene, and that waxy look..... But that is just what I have read, I may be wrong.....

I actually am using dry trim that is not frozen. The few batches I made with frozen trim were the worst batches I have made. As Frenchy has said, a freezer no longer has any place in my hash making except for making ice cubes, of which I am using very little of also. I am going to try some fresh trim unfrozen from my Timewreck harvest and will report on the results!
