Me and my best friend are planning on ultimately growing 15-30 bag seed
female plants. We have pleanty of seeds and can decide on the ammount
when the time comes. We gave the seeds their start in the back of his
trunk with a paper towel and a healthy amount of water. The first batch
grew perfectly and have been transfered into small pots and put into
groups of four with the exception of a few new growing seedlings. These
plants are four days old and 10 out of 25 have sprouted from the soil thus
far. More seeds are still in the trunk waiting to germinate. The spot is
perfect, real remote and hidden from sight in the woods. The spot is
surrounded by briar patches and the only opening is covered by a very
large tree branch with fishing line all around it to ward off deer and small
rodents. They recieve an abundant ammount of sunlight and rain through
a clearing in the canopy. We are still searching but havnt found a spot to
transfer the plants when they reach about 4 weeks old. When the time
comes to transfer, we are going to purchase multiple bags of fox farm
ocean forest soil as we had previously bought for our seedlings.
All advice and opinions are welcome and greatly appreciated.
This is where my questions come into play...
The 5 gallon pots that we have looked at to transfer the 5 week old
plants into are pretty expensive. To cut costs, would it be more benificial
to put thick garbage bags in the ground? We will definitely double the
lining of trash bags if needed. Also... if any, how big should the holes be in
the garbage bags to help drainage?
I just found my digital camera so i will be uploading pictures asap.
