hey db, what percentage of crystals do you let turn amber before you harvest your plants?? since I want the same "couch lock" effect you're looking for with your ladies...

I'm chopping down the weird looking trainwreck tomorrow. I think the harvesting experience will be good for me. I'd rather use 1 plant as practice for the rest of my girls instead of harvesting 9 plants at the same time when I've never done it before, plus I wanna smoke some of that shit and this plant should be dried & ready to start curing by the time I start harvesting the next plants. When I get home I'm pulling it from the tray and moving it to my bathroom so it can have the 24hr dark period. That means I can cut it down when i get home from work tomorrow which will be a 32 hr dark period total. I hope 5 days of flushing was enough to do something. The rest of the plants will still have almost 2 weeks of flushing...what can I say?...I'm a head and I can't wait anymore!!!

dark periods before harvest are a much debated topic... imo it should help because there are life and growth processes that take place independent of light. i believe that helps the plant metabolize a lot of the crap that we pump them up with before we cut them. dont know for sure but i feel like it helps, definately shouldnt hurt anything

I Dont Even Run A Dark Period... I Have Been Hearing Stuff. So Deff. More Research Here B4 I Can Truely Answer That. On Me Trich's Im Usually Siting At The 50/50 Mark Leaning More Towards The Amber Side. 75/25
But With A Good Idni...its Hard Not To Get A Couch Lock' I Think Your Going To Be Happy.... And Good Call On A Little Pre Harv. Harvest, This Will Deff. Help Your Chops For Trimming, Deep Breath And Go For It.!!!

Here are a few porn shots for the evening. Unfortunately it is a hermie!! It doesn't seem to be infested with seeds but it definetly does have some...DAMN IT!!! That's what I get for going with feminised seeds, now I'm thinking I should have ordered regular seeds for my 2nd grow but the fems are already on the way so fk it. Do you guys think this will it still be good smoke...once I pick out the seeds?!?!?
I've heard dry weight is about 1/8 of wet weight. Is that about right going by any of your personal experiences? I have 114 grams wet so if that formula is correct, I should have about a half oz from this plant. I guess that's not bad considering it was my runt and it was a hermie with very spuratic bud patterns.

hey Db, do you hang dry your buds or do you use some type of dryer box??
The hermie trainwreck is hang drying in my guest bathroom with a fan blowing to circulate air but not blowing directly on the buds, it shouldn't be that long before its ready for the jar cuz the buds are small. Also, do you think I'd be better off using this plant for hash or butter or something like that instead of smoking it?? Or should I just pick out the seeds and smoke it all??
Last but not least, what method would you suggest for making hash with my trimmings? seems like most people say bubble hash is the best way to go.

I Would Hang Yours From A Hanger For About A Wk. In A Cool Dark Closet... Check It After About 3 If It Feels A Little Dry. Thats Good. Keep Checking And Then Jar It. About The 5-6 D Mark... And Then Back In The Closet. Burp The Jar Every Couple Days. And Smoke Away.... If U Want To Try Some Now.... Its Not The Best. But Put It In The Micro Wave For 20 Sec. Bumps Letting Cool Between Them Till Dry Enough To Burn And Your Off To The Races.... Looks Like A Good Trim Job Too!!! Sticky Huh!!! ???

Do you ever weigh your buds when they're wet? I know it really serves no purpose other than finding out how much weight you lose when it dries but I figured maybe you have on occasion. Is about 1/8 of the wet weight roughly what to expect when it's dried. If so that means I'll get around a half oz from my runt here.

I DONT WEIGH WET ITS NOT WORTH IT.... THE LOSS IS ROUGHLY 50% DUE TO THE WATER THE LOSS OF WATER IS ABOUT THE 75% ZONE. THE SHRINKAGE. "THE ANGELS SHARE" OR "LITTLE SMURFS" IS WHAT I LIKE TO THINK... ROUGH LITTLE BUMPY TRICOMB SKIN...LOL DB.~TLB!

oh and a good friend of mine who also grows is letting me borrow his bubble hash set-up which he only used once or twice because he thinks it's too much of a pain in the ass...he has that washing mashine thing that you fill with ice water and I think he said 4 or 5 different bags. I have no idea how to do it but he's gonna show me and let me borrow it as long as I want...sweet, I don't have to spend $300!!!
